Tay Zonday: Before this, I was going to be a university professor
and I kind of hated it.
I started posting on YouTube thinking
maybe I could get one view, five views, ten views,
and I was so happy when I started to get a couple comments.
What do you do when an internet video blows up?
It kept going and going and going and ultimately became my main career.
When Chocolate Rain blew up,
everyone was telling me you've got to strike while the iron is hot,
sign with a label, put out an album in two weeks,
and milk it while it's hot.

You know maybe signing with a label would be great someday.
But, YouTube is something that will continue.
A friend of mine captured it pretty simply,
look at Chocolate Rain like it's a happy accident.
To move your career forward,
you need more happy accidents.
L.A. has kinda become the mecca for people who have success on YouTube.
It's really like theater in the 1920s
but everyone from New York headed out to L.A. to figure out
what do you do with film.
That's what YouTube is all over again and additional entertainment
is trying to figure out it's identity.
When did I decide to take it seriously?
Hahaha,
I don't know if I can relate to that language.
Haha. Man, this internet is something else.
