Gulab Jamun is a very delicious and mouth watering dessert
Today I'm going to make Gulab Jamun
Gulab Jamun is generally prepared with Khoa but today I'm going to make it using milk powder
Lets see the ingredients required for making Gulab Jamun
For making this, we will need
Milk Powder - 1 1/4 Cup
Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
Water - 1 1/2 cup
All purpose flour - 1 1/2 tbsp
Semolina - 1/2 tbsp
Milk - 1/4 cup, warm
Clarified Butter - 2 tsp
Baking Soda - 1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice - few drops
Dry fruits, chopped, for garnishing
Oil for frying
Lets start making Gulab Jamun
Take milk powder in a plate
Add all purpose flour
Add semolina
Add baking soda
Mix all the ingredients well
Now add warm milk into this mixture, little at a time and knead it
Make a soft dough of this mixture
Now add clarified butter
A smooth dough is ready, now cover it and let it rest for 5 minutes
Now we will make sugar syrup for gulab jamuns
Add sugar and water into a kadhai / wok
Turn on the heat
Sugar has melted
Now add few drops of lemon drops to this sugar syrup
Cook this syrup for 5 more minutes
Add cardamom powder
Syrup is ready, Turn off the heat
Dough is done, make about 16 balls out of this dough
Now roll these into smooth balls using palms
In the meanwhile, heat oil on medium low flame for frying
Balls are ready
Now we will deep fry them
Oil shouldn't be very hot for frying these gulab jamuns
Oil is heated, now place gulab jamuns in the oil
Keep rolling the gulab jamuns around so they are evenly browned
Gulab jamuns have turned nice golden brown, now turn off the heat
and take them out in a plate
Similarly fry all the gulab jamuns
All the gulab jamuns are fried
Now heat the sugar syrup
Turn off the heat
Place gulab jamuns in the sugar syrup
Let them sit in sugar syrup for 1 hour
It has been 1 hour, now take out the gulab jamuns and garnish them with the chopped dry fruits
Our gulab jamuns are ready, lets check one of these
Gulab jamuns are made very soft and spongy, these are completely filled with sugar syrup
