How To Tie a Tie: The St. Andrew
Video shot in mirror-image
Start with the wide end of the tie on the right
with the seam facing out.
Have the wide end of the tie
hang approximately 12 - 14 inches lower
than the narrow end of the tie.
Cross the wide end of the tie behind the narrow end.
Bring the wide end of the tie across the front and back to the right.
Bring the wide end of the tie back behind the narrow end a second time.
Bring the wide end of the tie up through the loop around your neck
going front-to-back
making sure the wide end of the tie ends up on your right.
Cross the wide end of the tie across the front.
Bring the wide end of the tie through the loop around your neck
this time going back-to-front.
Finally, bring the wide end of the tie through the knot.
Tighten the knot.
Slide it up to your neck.
And there you have the St. Andrew.
