Alright the search is finally over. I found what I was looking for.
Now I was looking for a USB hub that would also charge all my stuff,
one that was powered. If you have a USB hub on your desk,
and you use a lot of USB peripherals, you know that they're very convenient.
First of all it brings all that USB connectivity
and brings it up to your desktop so you don't have to go down
underneath your desk and getting all stressed out,
you just plug it in right there. On top of that
you can charge all your stuff on your desk
but you also know that the majority of them are not powered
so they're just regular USB hubs. So if you have a device that needs power
it's not going to turn on. So let's say you have a 2.5 inch hard drive
that does power over USB, it's not going to work
unless you plug in the adapter to the hardware and that kind of sucks
so this is cool. This is by Arkview,
it's actually called the Aquagate 7-port USB high performance USB hub.
Now it's USB 2.0, 480 megabits per second,
but what I liked about it was the layout that it has.
Now first of all take a look at one side.
You got 2 USB ports right there, ok? These are the ones that are going out,
that you're going to be using. This is where everything comes in
from your computer, it's a mini-USB and then you have power right there,
so that means you can charge all your stuff, no problem.
On the other side you have 3 USB 2.0s
and then my favorite part is the top because personally I like,
I carry 2 flash drives on me, one in my pocket
one in my keychain and when I get home I like to plug them right in
because that's where I transfer work stuff from work
and plugging into the side or onto the side
of my G15 keyboard from logitech or anywhere else is kind of annoying.
Even putting it on top of the case is annoying
but here, boom. There's 2 USB 2.0 ports right there
that sit right at the top and that makes it extremely convenient
for me to just plug in so I just need this sitting on my desk
and I mean, if you guys can imagine digital cameras, video cameras,
hard drives, I've got all this stuff on my desk
and I need a nice, powerful, powered USB 2.0 hub
and this is what I shopped for so I wanted to show you
because I kind of went through a lot of work trying to find it.
It wasn't that easy, it needed to fit you know a couple of things,
it needed to be powered, it needed to be at minimum 5 or 7 ports,
that's what I needed and I liked something that had something on the top
so it ends up working out pretty well and just so you know,
you get the included mini-USB 2.0 cable,
so this is where you're going to plug in to your computer
and you the power adapter obviously so you can power and charge everything
through USB. So I love this. I keep my I-Phone cable out of here,
I keep my camera cable out of here and I keep my ZI6 cable out of here
for my Kodak video camera and those are always hanging there
so I can just plug in whenever I want and my 2 flash drives can go up here,
it's powered, it's convenient, it's very useful,
it's the Arkview Aquagate 7-port high performance USB 2.0 hub.
Very good stuff. Any questions don't ask them,
figure it out yourself. See you guys later.
