Howdy folks how's it going welcome to my *** kitchen it's Barry here and today i'm showing
you how to make churros I want to thank Molly Goddard for introducing me to the World of
churros they're amazing good times. They look amazing right and I promise you
if you make these they will rock your socks they're a bit naughty the you will want to
eat one go for a run then come back and eat another one because you've earnt it. They're
also known as Spanish donuts and when I think of the word churros I want to sort of say
cheerio and that's exactly what you'll be saying if you make these you'll be saying
cheerio to all your friends because you'll be running off you don't wanna share these
they are darn good so if you want to have a go at making this hit pause on the video
now write down all the ings and this is how you do it. You're gonna love me for this,
first up grab yourself a jug and pour in your boiling water then you want to tip in the
vanilla extract and butter just one big piece like that mix it together using the heat of
the water to melt that butter down until it's all combined together then just put it to
one side. Put your plain flour and baking powder into
a sieve and then pass it through into a large mixing bowl creating a nice big mound of dusted
white loving. Then you want to add your watery butter mixture into the flour and baking powder
mixing it together really well with a spatula until it's pretty much lump free nice and
smooth and you just want to leave it to stand and cool now as our batter mixture cools down
it will thicken up and that's exactly what we're after so if you find that it's too runny
add a little bit more flour in otherwise when you try and pipe it later it's just gonna
be all saggy and saggy isn't that great. To kill time whilst our batter mixture is
thickening we're gonna make our cinnamon sugar the easiest way to do this is to grab a little
bag tip your sugar in and your cinnamon and shake it all well together like a musical
instrument. I don't really know if that'll take off though someone going what instrument
do you play? I play the maracas. And someone else goes yeah I play the cinnamon sugar bag
and they're shaking it like that yeah not gonna work really is it.
With the cinnamon sugar done we'll also make a quick hot sauce so what we'll do is grab
a mixing bowl plonk in our chocolate a little bit of milk and some maple syrup and we'll
pour on some hot double cream oh my goodness that is looking amazing that heat of the cream
will melt the chocolate and you just want to stick your foot right in there.
Please don't put your foot in the chocolate thanks.
Pour your oil into a saucepan and heat it to the point where you can tear a little bit
of bread into that saucepan and it'll brown after about 20 to 30 seconds once you are
at that stage it's time to fill up your piping device of choice.
Ok guys i've got to show you my bodged piping device you'll see it's got a large star nozzle
on there which is essential for the shape and this is my favourite piping device really
I don't like the bag so much so i'm getting used to them but this is my favourite and
as you can see it didn't fit on there so I masking taped it round any way you can get
around it I don't mind. So with your piping device ready push your
batter through into the saucepan snipping it with scissors to the length you like let
it cook away until it's golden brown and as you gain in confidence you can maybe do 3
or 4 at once and you can leave them all to rest on kitchen towel. So once all your churros
are cooked you want to grab that cinnamon sugar bag, plonk them all in there and good
them a darn good coating using your hands to work it all round until they're nice and
fully coated in cinnamon sugar loving and it's time to eat them.
So that's it then guys once they are all done shove them on a board like this your chocolate
sauce in the ramekin and i'd now like to officially advertise for the position of taste tester
as you know I do these videos on my own I can't eat all this can I?! Well, times are
hard right so we're gonna dunk it right in that chocolate ih my goodness the cream now
it's cooled down is hugging it you see this oh my goodness that is so good. Oh my goodness
guys my mind is telling me no but my body is telling me yes Molly you naughty thing
