Korea's consumer prices gained at least one percent for the second straight month in March.
According to a report by Statistics Korea, the country's consumer price index rose one
percent last month from a year earlier, …slightly lower than February's one-point-three percent.
The agency said the rise was driven by prices of agricultural products, which jumped over
five percent on-year due to a supply shortage of staple farm products like onions and garlic.
Prices of fresh food, including vegetables and fruits, jumped nine-point-seven percent
over the same period. Core inflation, which excludes volatile oil
and food prices, rose one-point-nine percent on-year, …down point-one percentage point
from a year ago.
