For pumping of tires while on the road there's a few choices out there. One of them is a
CO2 inflator; very small, easy to carry in a bag, somewhat pricey if you're using threaded
cartridges. Every flat is going to run you a couple of bucks. You can buy inflator kits
that take unthreaded cartridges in the 12 gram variety and use those instead. Spend
less money, but it's still a little bit on the wasteful side considering after all, you
are riding a bike. Why create more trash? Mini pumps; not bad for emergencies. Something
like this will get a tire up to the 60-80 pound with a lot of work. A lot of people
buy pumps like this thinking that they can top their tires up regularly with it. Do not
make that mistake. Buy a floor pump for that use. These are intended for emergencies only
and not to be used constantly. Otherwise, they will just be broken in a short period
of time. If you're on a road bike or a hybrid, I honestly recommend a good frame pump. These
are much larger, actually pump a descent volume of air per stroke, fits bikes pretty well,
come with Velcro straps to hold them onto the frame, come with a setting that allows
you to push them and hold them into the frame. These are almost as a good as floor pump.
They don't come with a gage.
