So you'd like to learn more about magic, huh? Specifically coin magic. Well, I can help
you.
Here's a secret that I've learned over the years. Practictioners of the art of magic
over the years have secretly, and cleverly concealed their secrets in books. So what
does that mean to you?
Take a trip to the local library and you can actually find a book called JB Bobo's Modern
Coin Magic. It's available at any Barnes & Noble or bookstore. You can work through this
book and you'll learn slight of hand with coin, vanishes, everything. It also includes
the history behind coin magic, a wonderful find.
The second book, the first chapter is completely dedicated to coin sleight of hand. Worth getting.
This is a nine volume series, my mentor Danny Hein, who is very, very influential, pushed
me on these books, and I absolutely loved them.
The third is for you experts out there, once you work through Bobo and then once you work
through the Tarvelt course, you can pick up David Roth's Expert Coin Magic book. It's
highly recommended for those that start with those two books first and then move on.
Remember, magic is not just about the tricks. There's also the skill and the dexterity that
comes along with it that you have to master. Doing something like the coin roll, for instance,
is a perfect example of something that you could be doing while reading or studying the
art of magic.
I highly recommend building up your dexterity because it's something that will carry on
into the tricks that you'll perform for your friends and family.
