When preforming with fire, you usually want to at least play with the fire a little bit
first before you blow a fireball. A lot of people dance with the flame. And so I'm going
to demonstrate just some simple moves that you can use to safely dance with the fire.
Always, as I said before, keep it away from your body, keep it at arms length, and you
can very simply start out with making like an X formation in front of your body. And
you can kind of further this to go on each side. Always keep your eye on the flame and
never hold the torch down, always keep the torch at an angle, even when you're going
around like this, never have the flame below you, keep it either out at a distance or up,
never down, because obviously the flame would come right up to touch your hand. So to the
side like this is something that I like to do. You can bring it down in front of your
body and kind of flow with it. And also of course the circle.
And of course, even when performing the circular move, I never let the torch go upside down,
I keep it out in front of me like this and I swing quickly below me so that I am not
in harm of the flame. After all of this, it's very important to know how to put the fire
out. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with a flaming stick and you won't know what to do. That's
why we have our towel handy. As you saw when I got done breathing the fireball, you want
to place the fire down on the wet towel and away from your body. Take the other end of
the towel and simply fold it over. Never touching anything hot at all, so totally safely and
it's out. Just in case that doesn't work, you do want to make sure that you have a fire
extinguisher available at all times or be next to a pool, that always works too.
