Dark Passage is a team formed in August 2012, a month after the Turkish server be opened.
It is the first e-sport organization in Turkey, formed in 2003 with its team of Counter Strike.
Today it houses rosters CS, LoL, Starcraft 2, among others. The main sponsor of the team
is Kaspersky, famous brand of antivirus market. The team, who reached the rank of Challenger
on both the West European and Turkey servers is known to be the most successful team in
the country, having won the winter, spring and summer Turkish championships that have
occurred in Season 3. The three victories were over Team HWA Gaming, Dark Passage's
biggest rival and where ReostA and Fabulous have already played.
Moreover, Dark Passage has also participated in two European tournaments: the Black Monster
Cup # 2, in which they overcame Mouz.eSports, Absolute Legends.eu and lost the finals 2-0
against Giants. And also Dreamhack Summer 2013 where the team won against Eternity Gaming
2-0 and was defeated by Copenhagen Wolves 2-1 in the finals. This was the tournament
that put the team in evidence on the European scene, since Dreamhack Summer also hosted
the European LCS. To qualify for Gamescom 2013, Dark Passage
had to win the Season 3 Turkish Championship. Divided into 8 times in a format with single
elimination using bo3 and bo5 in the finals. The other participating teams were: Team Turquality
Blue, Team Turquality Red, HWA Gaming , Zone eSports, HWA Gaming Babs (HWA's second roster),
ANT Game and Satis Gaming. The quarter-finals against GMS accounted the
only defeat of Dark Passage throughout the whole tournament, in a game where the team
was defeated thanks to the high CC and AoE provided by GMS players. The team recovered
in the third game and managed to advance to the semi-finals.
There they faced ANT Gaming. And with a sensational performance by Naru, particularly in the second
game with the champion Zed, the team got the better of the two matches in the Bo3.
In the final they dueled Team Turquality Blue for the championship. Forcing ganks in the
botlane and with fabFabulous inspired in the top lane, the team managed to win 3 games
in the best of 5, creating favorable scenarios and never letting the lead slip in all matches,
these advantages were built in teamfights where Dark Passage constructed its superiority
due to amazing synergy and fantastic mechanics by Fabulous. At the end of the tournament,
the prize: all players except ReostA took the awards for best players in their respective
roles, the tournament MVP was Naru and the spot for Gamescom was assured.
The team's play style is based on a map control and sharp and precise teamfights. In the bot
lane, HolyPhoenix and HolyThoth manage to usually impose their play style, ensuring
a good farm rate and also zoning the opponents. As HolyPhoenix will not attend Gamescom, we
will probably see more aggression in the bot lane since the sub Lethilion likes to disturb
his opponents using champions with high poke such as Caitlyn and Varus, but the lane may
In mid, Naru usually prefers to farm more, playing more passively.
ReostA's ganks are normally directed to the bot lane to secure some advantage. And for
this championship it will be even more so, due to the loss of part of the synergy.
In top, Fabulous usually plays alone, since he can farm well and is hardly surpassed.
It is worth mentioning his accuracy in the game, since he is a player who knows the exact
moment to push certain towers or entering a team fight. Much of the strength of the
team passes by him because they know that they will always have Fabulous in a comfortable
position no matter how the game flows. The team usually invests in oracle from the 20
minutes mark when the laning phase is over, in order to ensure greater security for the
team clearing wards and taking control of the opponent's jungle.
Thanks to the team not being too aggressive in the laning phase, with the exception of
its bot lane, Dark Passage relies heavily on its team fights, where the team plays with
an impressive synergy, much by Naru's, ReostA's and Fabulous's parts. Another highlight is
the smooth map control that the team has, always taking control of minion waves and
making safe split pushes when needed. Finally, the greatest quality of the team
is being able to administer the advantage that they create during the whole game. During
the Turkish League they never lost the advantage of gold that was created over the opponent.
Although it is a team with an interesting map control and that rarely misses the advantage
created, their faults are visible. ReostA is a passive jungler that rarely visits his
mid and top, preferring to farm jungle camps as fast as possible. Along with the fact that
he fail to make good ganks in the lane phase. His greatest strength is in team fights, in
which can choose his positioning (offensive or defensive).
Naru, although he is a revelation, still has problems to keep his farm up when being pushed
against his tower and even with choices of picks that can roam well, he rarely do it.
A good alternative to try to defeat Dark Passage is getting a good 1v1 against Naru, leaving
him as uncomfortable as possible so you can give proper pressure in the top lane upon
Fabulous. If he gets behind, then entire will follow.
The highlight of the team is for the top laner fabFabulous, which has a diverse pool champion
that goes from more aggressive champions, like Jayce, Khazix and Elise to others focused
even more on utility such as Shen, Kennen and Malphite, all executed with amazing mechanics.
Usually he imposes his strength in lane, ensuring an advantage in cs or even maintaining equality
in case he is being pushed to the tower. The pressure that fab generates and the constant
pursuit of goals by his part ensures that he can also reverse it to whole team.
Dark Passage's top laner has passages by the team's biggest rival, HWA Gaming, where he
played until May 2013 and was defeated by its current team in the winter and spring
Turkish tournaments. Considered one of the leading players on the team, fab is a versatile
top laner that can play both the role of carry and frontline, creating a line to secure his
carrys and letting them shine. He is Diamond One on both Western Europe and
Turkey servers. It is the newest member of the team, having
played for the three major Turkish teams: Turquality until January 2013, HWA Gaming
until June 2013 and Dark Passage today replacing the player Theokoles. Before playing in the
jungle he was mid laner, having in his pool champions like Ahri, Morgana and Lux. Thanks
to its former role, he is known to have a good notion of skill shots, which ensures
good engages in teamfights. Is Platinum 1 in Turkey and Diamond 2 in EUW. Mid laner famous for fitting Morgana in Dark
Passage's comps even in Season 3, he has preferred to play with champions who have great ease
in farming minion waves as Zed, Orianna and Karthus. With only 16 years old, he is considered
one of the revelations of the European scene. He is also the team captain of Dark Passage,
performing all team calls. Is currently Diamond One in the Western European
server and, after being Challenger, is Diamond One in Turkey at the moment.
It is part of the team Turquality since August, where he played with ReostA. Due to Holyphoenix,
AD Carry original Dark Passage, not being able to play Gamescom and the two teams have
a good relationship, was selected to be his replacement. Like AD carrys with good mechanical
poke, so you can constantly assaulting your opponents in lane. It is interesting to note
that after the final they lost in the Turkish League for Dark Passage, Lethilion retired
from not having a contract with the team Turquality, which he was captain.
Is Diamond I on both the EUW server and the Turkish server.
Support that came on TrieLBaenRE's place, currently in HWA Gaming. He has a preference
for more defensive picks, aimed at protecting his AD Carry as Lulu, Janna and Sona (its
main champion, who also pulled a ban on the last leg of the final). But even with these
picks, he often impose his presence in lane, constantly troubling the opposing bot lane
and letting his carry to farm smoothly. Is Platinum III in the Turkish server and Diamond I in EUW.
