To search in Medline, click “Articles and more: Database Pages” in the navigation menu on the library’s home page.
You can use the subject list,
or sort databases by name.
and then choose MEDLINE via PubMed
You can do keyword searches in MEDLINE
Or use the MeSH Database Browser to look for subject headings
If I type “diabetes and patient education”
in the search space, and click Search,
I will retrieve a list of articles with those words.
To refine your list of articles to evidence based practice,
click under Articles in the Limits filters next to the search results.
You may not see all the article types displayed.
Click More at the end of the Article Types list to choose which should display on your screen.
Then add article types that you wish to show, such as Meta-Analysis.
Make sure that you choose appropriate types, such as Randomized Controlled Trial
or Systematic Review.
You'll now have a list of articles in various languages.
To limit to Chemeketa Community College journals,
click Chemeketa Community College under filter your results
This will give you a list of articles available
to Chemeketa students.
Clicking on the title of an article gives you more information,
usually including an abstract.
There is a Chemeketa Full Text button
for articles that have electronic text.
When you click the full text will appear in another window.
It may take a few seconds.
Some articles may not have electronic text,
but may be available in print in Chemeketa's library.
They will say Chemeketa Printed Journals.
Clicking on this link tells you what issues
are available in the library.
