Hi! I am Erica Lane and I am with Expert Village and I am talking about how to train the female
voice. I am going to continue talking about warmups. There is a third type of warmup after
I talked about ascending and descending scales then arpeggiation. I also want to talk about
octaves. This is going from the bottom note all the way to the same note, which is an
octave higher. So we are talking about eight intervals later do, re, mi, fa, so, la, to,
do or...I went from the bottom do to the top do. So I went a full octave. So this particular
warmup just involves going from the low do to the high do. We will start on an A for
octaves, two ready go.... So I
actually started in an alto range with that octave warmup and I ended in the soprano range.
It is a good idea when you are warming up to stretch your voice a little lower than
your comfort zone and a little higher than your comfort zone. That way it makes your
range even bigger and you are able to sing more challenging songs.
