Last week on 'Get On The Shelf', four more entrepreneurs pitched the last four inventions of the season.
The category: 'Made in the U.S.A.' And from all over the U.S.A. the votes poured in.
In a matter of minutes, the winner of that vote will be revealed. At stake, a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sell through the world's largest retailer. And a spot in the running
to be crowned Grand Champion - carrying valuable marketing support and more. You have the power.
Their dreams rest in your hands. All that and more is coming up right now on 'Get On The Shelf.'
The past five weeks have been a wild ride. We have watched as entrepreneurs
from all over the country pitched their inventions. And then America voted for the ones they liked
best. In the end, only five products can move onward. The first lucky four have already
been chosen. In week one, the category was 'Live Better.' The product you wanted to see
get on the shelf was the Chemo Beanie, by Angelle Albright in Covington, Louisiana.
I am a cancer survivor and I created Chemo Beanies for my sister, when she was diagnosed
five years after me. Women who are going through chemo do not want to hide the fact that they
are going through chemo. They want people to love on them. Cancer has touched the lives
of so many people, and so to be able to offer this product and have just one less thing
to worry about, in what is such a tough time. It is a great item. Since winning my episode
of 'Get On The Shelf' everything has just come to life. It has been so exciting. And all of our community has rallied around us.
I believe one person can change the world, and I believe one person
can accomplish anything they set their mind to. I do not think there is any limitations in life.
Week two's theme was 'Around the House.' The winner was the Elvis Presley Home Bedding Collection.
The brainchild of David Bursteen in Woodland Hills, California.
Elvis is as American as American Pie. His face is one of the most recognizable symbols in America.
So we licensed Elvis Presley and created two unique styles of home bedding. You have hit
it right on the mark. Elvis would do really well with the Walmart.com customer. So I just
need to get one of these out of my system. If you really believe in something, even if
it is a vision, you got to make it happen. Elvis Presley had a song called 'Follow that
dream' and that is what we are doing. Week three's category was 'Kids' Stuff' and that
winner was SKRIBS by Tumi Oredein of Richmond, Virginia. These are wristbands that allow
children to draw and erase on a wristband with a swipe of a finger. The reason why I
created it is because I thought back to when I was a kid, and how much I loved to create
at a moment's notice. Tumi, this is awesome. I think this could be a hit. It is so creatively simple.
Thank you. I really could not have gotten where I have gotten without the 'Get
On The Shelf' program. This is something that is so important for such a small company in
the infancy of our development. This is greater than anything that I could have asked for already.
Week four was 'Great Gadgets' and Synette Tom from Menlo Park, California won
with her Gibi Pet Locator. We wanted to make it easy for pet owners to quickly, accurately,
and reliably find their pet by simply going to their smart phone or computer and seeing
their dog's exact location on a Google Map. I think it is great to see your dedication
and passion about the product. And also about a member of your family. It is really evident.
I think it could be a really exciting item for our customers.
We have been getting a lot of calls about our start-up (when is it going to be available?)
and Walmart is helping us with that. Keep pursuing your dreams. Keep looking for opportunities. If you do not take
the risk, you will never know. Last week we had 'Made in the U.S.A.' Our final four products
battling for the last remaining spot on the shelf were: a pet leash shock absorber called
'Bungee'd.' A flexible race car track called 'BluTrack.' The 'Node', a multi-functional sensor
device. And the 'Eraselet', a bracelet that also acts as an eraser. Once again, you voted
and the final product to win a chance to get on the shelf is
'BluTrack.'
Awesome! And my
daughter just walked in. We won our category. This is pretty exciting. Walmart truly is like
the prettiest girl in high school. It is really exciting that she is interested in us. I am
just really excited to see where it goes from here. If you do the right things long enough,
good things will happen. So here they are, America. Your final five. The live of one
of these American entrepreneurs is about to change forever when he or she is crowned the
Grand Champion. Who is it going to be? The power is in your hands. Your support could
