Hi there,
We're at the Nurburgring doing racing today
there is in fact three things you can do here,
it's GLP, RCN and VLN.
VLN is the big series where there is the 24 hours
GLP is a sort of regularity course
RCN is right in-between and it's
a perfect way to get used to driving competitively
at the Nordschleife.
It's going to be a new experience and hopefully the first step of many more,
I've got a great co-driver with me to help me through
so it's going to be great.
RCN is really a good place to cut your teeth,
because there isn't the same kind of pressure
on you in the car as say, the VLN race.
because you're not really racing per-se against other folks on the track,
you're racing to come as close to your own time as possible, your first out lap.
So yet you still have the environment of traffic
and having to navigate the traffic and some pretty fast folks out there as well.
The opportunity to have a co-driver and be able to
talk about what you're doing and why you're doing it, what to look out for,
what to change, what to keep the same
RCN is perfect for that.
It was exactly what I'd hoped and I look forward to doing another one.
I have driven the Nordschleife in a Porsche GT3 RS,
and a fair amount of experience in that car,
but not in a race environment.
When Ron did a couple of hot laps
it showed me that I wasn't even close
to the limits of the car.
So it was the right choice for me.
When I came to RSR to talk to them
about racing and developing and going through the stages of racing,
they had just gotten the car,
and as I said, they had set it up on a track day for me,
tweaked it a little bit, and today it was perfect.
No complaints, only praise.
What can you say about the Nordschleife that hasn't been said?
So I don't think there is anything I can share
that you can't find someone much more experienced
in driving the Nordschleife to talk about,
but what I can tell you is, if you enjoy
the process,
if you enjoy development and being able
to work on things
specifically key points, step by step,
there's no end to what you can do on the Nordschleife
because there is so much to it,
that I think people could spent a life time,
and they have spent a life time
just figuring it out.
So if you like that kind of thing,
if you enjoy the process of learning
and increasing your skill set,
then this is the place, this is the track.
