Hi, I am terri griffith professor of management and i'd like to offer you this
negotiation course and as you can see i'm standing in the middle of
Sonoran desert and the reason i'm doing that is because i want to acknowledge
that are online courses may not be his interactive as a one a two-day
workshop but it doesn't mean they can't be interesting so i'm going to try and
switch up the scenery i will be sure to apply the negotiation contexts across a
variety of settings not just about a business deal or contract but across all
forms of influence. Whenever we have to influence others we've really can use
the tools of negotiation to do that
i tell my m_b_a_ students that it's the most important elective they can take
and i also tell them the more they can engage and actually think about how they
would feel as they do this negotiation
the more it's going to stick.
And so i will try and help it stick by keeping it interesting and keeping the
scenery changing
but also because I'm going to talk to you about it
as a problem-solving approach not so much is about a battle to be fought
and problem solving is really about information gathering with your
negotiation partners on the internet
gathering up whatever information you can and then find the best solution to
the particular problem we have
so i'll look forward to your feedback and i hope you'll join us in this course
