>> Heather Chakiris: Related to programming, this was interesting. I wanted to make sure we had, we took questions
from our chat room as well. This is from Sergio. Hi Sergio. Are there plans to begin to offer
courses that take place in a virtual classroom?
>> Wayne Smutz: Well, that's a pretty interesting question because I suppose it means what you, virtual
classroom, the issue is, what does that actually mean? So we actually offer courses in video
based classrooms, but if you're asking would we have a classroom in which multiple people
in multiple locations could connect virtually, I think that is entirely possible. The issue
in general in World Campus courses is that we have students who are all over the place.
And so we have this time zone issue. But if we could work with a group of students who
wanted to make that happen, I'm pretty sure we could make that happen pretty easily. Well,
maybe not easily, but we could make it happen.
>> Heather Chakiris: Be very careful about using the word easily. I also want to make sure that I pass on a
message from Rod, who's also a student of ours who's in the chat room. Rod is having
a difficult time getting the economics course that he needs to graduate and has been told
that they won't be available until 2014, 2015. Do you have any information that might be
helpful to Rod?
>> Wayne Smutz: Well, 2014, '15 is when the degrees will be available, but we have some ECON courses
available now, and if he needs one of those for graduation, talk to your advisor, they
ought to be able to help you get into that. But the degree will not be available for a
while.
>> Heather Chakiris: For a while
>> Wayne Smutz: For a while
>> Heather Chakiris: And Rod if we somehow misconstrued your question and you'd like to provide some clarification,
we'd welcome that, and we'll get you the answer to your question so that you can graduate
with your Penn State degree.
>> Wayne Smutz: I mean just the ECON bachelor's degree, I think we approve just within the last two
or three months I think to offer. And typically it will take 18 to 24 months to get a program
up and running then, so it takes time to develop the courses and make sure the faculty all
lined up and ready to go, so it takes a while. But once it's in place and going, then it
can roll out. So it will be there, but it's going to take a little while.
>> Heather Chakiris: And we're going to go ahead and go back into the chat room with Liam. Who is
up next with a question?
