My name's Marcus, I have T5-T6 paraplegia, and I'll just be demonstrating
a few back wheel balance skills.
Allright, this first one is just the basic
standing still
Allright, now once you have learned to do balance like that
this is going forward
And this is a skill I find is really important when going down hill, or going over bumps
and rough terrain
or else you will fall forward out of your chair
and this is just going backwards
which could be used to to just go over small bumps when you're backing up
and having to just quickly turn
The important things are to remember to start off with your hands at probably a
forty five degree angle
you push forward
and you just let your weight take you
at the back end of you so you just sit in it really nicely
Firm grip but not too hard
and um -- yeah you just
play around with it. After a bit of practice it becomes second nature
and then yeah you push forward, stop
fully extend, and push back to go backwards
