Hello and welcome to Shale World Weekly Round Up!
I am Cristina Lando and each week I'll bring
you a snippet of content straight from our blog.
The first story on the blog this week is about
shale gas impact on gas prices and energy bills.
During a recent interview to the BBC,
Derek Lickorish, the government's adviser on
fuel poverty said fracking "could help poor people.
It has the potential to reduce gas bills
and electricity bills".
However, Mr Francis Egan,
the CEO of Cuadrilla Resources and
Andrew Austin the CEO of IGas
said it's still unknown whether
shale gas can reduce gas prices or not.
They said: shale gas will definitely
put a cap on gas prices,
having a positive impact both on householders
and industries.
Gas price is driven by how far is
the supply from the demand.
Therefore, to avoid higher gas prices,
the industry needs to put more supply
into the market and get closer to the demand.
Will shale gas lower gas prices in the UK?

Moving forward
A recent study by Transparency Market Research
shows that the global unconventional gas market
is expected to reach 126.93 billion in 2019,
increasing 4.7% since 2013.
The report also highlights that global production
will go from 23.48 trillion cubic feet in 2012
to 34.12 trillion cubic feet by 2019,
growing 5.8%.

Let's move on to the next story.
During an interview with World Finance,
Chris Faulkner the CEO of Breitling Oil and Gas
talks about the potential of shale developments.
He said "the oil and gas industry has been using
the technique of fracking for more than 60 years
and if done properly the process is safe."
He thinks shale gas is a "game-changer"
and that, is a "vital part of what the industry
is doing today and of what the industry
will be doing tomorrow."

Europe Congress in Poland,
where he is a confirmed speaker.
This week we also feature a video by Chevron
which shows how shale gas is safely
and responsibly produced.
This video provides a tutorial on the
step-by-step process Chevron takes to
explore for, and eventually develop,
natural gas from shale.
