I'm delighted to be with you once again
I am Jose Carrasco talking to you as always from the island of Menorca
and on this occasion, in this new encounter, I want to show you
a genuine Menorcan farm
and the part of the property we are looking at
from where we can glimpse
as you will be able to see
a landscape most representative
of the countryside of the Menorcan coast
today isn't a very clear day, but I hope you can appreciate
the image of the view to the sea in the background
and here, closer to where I am
is the main house of this property
and there are other buildings that we will see later
it is a farm of more than 360.000m²
okay, let's go for a walk
there are numerous buildings within the farm
approximately more than 700 square metres of built area
let's take this track
which reaches down to the sea
in this area there are other houses
in neighbouring farms
this is the main house again
it has two floors
the actual distribution is,
it is in a very good state of repair,
the distribution is
made up of 6 bedrooms
and it has two further large rooms
and a big garage
here, nearby, we find
in all parts of the farm
a great job has been done building the stonework
as you will appreciate from the image
there are dry stone walls
all around
from here we have a better view
I would say, on this occasion I do not want to intrude on the owners
we have photos of the inside
I would like to say that we are close to the airport
but the reality is
the noise does not appear to be too disturbing
but it is something you should know about
from here we see a plane in flight
just after take-off
and here there are other houses
some of them significant close to here
other properties that have been recently reformed
and here we find as we continue the walk
more buildings
here we have these stables
where you can see there are a lot of tools
I will say that
for a very long time
agricultural tasks have been carried-out
on the property, ahh here is a friendly donkey
who is watching me
because he doesn't know me
these animals have a bad name
but they are much more intelligent
than they appear....here we have
an old water trough, as you can see
this farm is like a real living museum
in the open air
later we will see some very interesting features
such as a well, which was excavated by hand
with a wheel
and here is a large "boyera" or barn
with a paved "era"
close by
this is the large barn which we saw from the other side
of the wall from the track
in the distance is the farmhouse
to show where it is situated
the stables
and next to me
the paved "era" or threshing circle
and for those who do not know
was used in days gone by to thresh wheat
as one of the farming tasks
and in the background
and from here you can see a little better,
the sea
and we continue our tour
through the farm
to see more things
here at the bottom of the farm
we find some sheep
because here there is another building
this animal shelter
and this herd of sheep
that you are watching
and here is...
a well
this is a very old well
dug-out by hand
as you can see, it is a relic of the past
here we see the wheel
we see the pail
the pail is the bucket
which together with the pulley
was used to extract the water
it is capped
but it remains here
Here, waiting for the sunset,
I will remind you
of the features of this great property
this country estate
with more than 360.000 square meters
with more than 700 square meters of buildings
between the main house
the barns, stables
and other animal shelters
as you can observe, there are views towards the sea
it is on the south coast of Menorca
to be precise, in the municipality of Mahon
and as always I am at your disposal
to give you any further information
