Thank you so much for sitting down with me today and allowing me to share Scriptures
with you. We’re reading through our Bibles in one year. Today, my thought comes from one
of my favourite passages in Proverbs.
Proverbs chapter 6, beginning with verse 6.
“Go to the ant, you sluggard [lazy person]; consider its ways and be wise!
Now, he says, gain the wisdom of the ant.
[Verse 7] "The ant has no commander, no overseer or ruler," So, alright, there’s wisdom from the ant.
The ant does not have anybody telling it what to do.
Verse 8, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
Though an ant has nobody telling it what to do. The ant thinks about the future.
And the ant shows initiative.
Now, if you want to break out of poverty, if you want to begin to be successful in life
Forgive me, you need to have the brains of an ant.
“Oh Pastor Sumrall, that’s being insulting.” No. I’m just making a joke.
You need at least to have the brains size of an ant.
If you have the brain the size of an ant, you can prosper.
An ant knows how to save money.
An ant knows how to show initiative.
Now, if you can do those two things, forgive me, you can be a successful person.
And is does not take the I.Q. of 160 to do that. It just takes the brains of an ant.
So, let’s go and learn the wisdom of the ant. An ant shows initiative and the ant knows how to save.
