Welcome to the introduction of signal flow and integration of show control
and the DMP 8,000 controller. During this video
we'll look at the different components that make up your Daktronics rack
and front-end user stations. There are several ways
DMP 8,000 can be integrated into a Daktronics system.
In this video we will cover the DMP 8,000 utilized as the primary player
as an input to a switcher serving as a clip player
and as an SDI input on the VIP 4400
as an auxiliary player. Let's follow the Daktronics signal flow for a system with
the DMP 8,000 used as the primary player starting with the first set of CPU's.
These computers may be labeled
DMP 8,000 P and B
or VNet. The DMP 8,000 computer is connected to a network switch
and to a secondary device such as a multi bridge prographics card
which is then connected to the VIP 4400.
Before going further let's look at other ways a DMP 8,000 can be integrated into
a Daktronics control system.
If the DMP 8,000 is not the primary player
it is most likely connected to the input a VIP 4400
either directly or through an external device
such as a switcher. The DMP 8,000 can be used as a secondary player
such as a clip server or to overlay scoreboard.
Although the DMP 8,000 has multiple uses
they all lead into the VIP 4400. The VIP 4400
is also known as a Video Image Processor or
a V-Link. This VIP takes the video sources such as a camera,
switcher feed, or a DMP 8,000
It then connects them to an AB interface.
The AB interface is a switch that routes the signal from either the primary
or the backup computer in the VIP 4400. For example,
if you switched the backup from the primary
the signal would now come from the backup DMP 8,000
into the backup VIP 4400 with minimal interruption
on the display. The AB Interface
then connects to the VIP 40-60. The VIP 40-60
is yet another video image processor. This VIP
takes in the combine video signal and translates it into a signal
that can be sent to the display. This concludes the introduction to signal flow
on DNP 8,000 will Show Control. Continue to the next video
for more information.
