Announcer -Saints fans please turn your attention to the big screens to honor
today’s Peoples Health Champion- Rene’ Brunet
Rene’ - I have no intention of ever retiring and I’ll see you at the movies.
Mark Singletary - On November 25, 2008, at the age of 87,
Rene’ Brunet introduced the first fully digital movie theater to the greater
New Orleans area.
With an investment of over a half a million dollars in state-of-the-art
technology, Rene established the historic Prytania Theater
as one of the nation’s most advanced movie houses.
Rene’s passion for the film industry began in the 1920’s when he worked in
his dad’s Imperial Theater.
What a cool experience for the movie goer to see the owner of the theater
standing at the front door taking their ticket, welcoming them to the theater.
His ability to provide a very quality experience for movie going creates truly,
truly a unique experience for movie goers. Rene’ also brings back the classics.
So you can sit in this cozy, historic theater with state-of-the-art technology
and watch the movie magic from days gone by.
Rene’ - I’m 88 years old and I love coming to work at the Prytania Theater everyday.
Mark Singletary - Congratulations Rene, I’ll see you at the movies.
