As a Telfer BCom HR student,
I benefited from all the extra-curricular activities,
networking opportunities, scholarships,
and applicable hands-on learning experiences.
Participation in the co-op program provided me
with the opportunity to apply my knowledge
to real world situations
and helped me to determine which fields of HR
I was interested in pursuing as a career.
My participation in various student clubs and councils
helped to develop and hone my leadership skills
and strengthen my connections with business professionals
in the HR community.
Thanks to the knowledge, skills and experience I gained
at the Telfer School of Management,
I was able to launch my career
with a successful HR consulting firm.
While attending the Telfer School of Management,
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity
to participate and represent this school
in HR Academic Case Competitions.
This experience takes your education to a whole new level.
Case competitions force you to apply the knowledge
that you’ve learned from your classes
and to think through the logistics of how they apply
and the implications that your recommendations
will have on an organization.
Academic competitions are not just business as usual.
During my participation,
I was able to push myself to new limits
and develop a confidence in my skill sets and abilities.
