I'm Julian Finney, I'm a photographer for Getty Images
and I've been working there for just over nine years. My favourite part of being a photographer is going
to so many places around the world and
travelling with my photography and also being at
the front row of sporting events, it's a pretty good experience.
Arriving at a football match can be quite competitive sometimes. If it's a big match you
have to arrive early if you want the best spot.
I position myself mainly in one corner and you don't
tend to move around during a game. It's important to
prepare correctly so you're quite relaxed
whilst shooting. I would like to aim for
a good set of images, roughly 20 to 30 images that I'm happy with.
Good action, goal picture, celebration. I mean you sit in one corner of a football pitch
so you could
quite easily miss everything and have nothing so
it varies match to match. When the action stops
in a sporting event it's suddenly all go for me because I've got to
send the pictures out to the newspapers or magazines around the world
so it's suddenly all go and all panic.
Using the NX Galaxy you can directly transmit the images
from the back of the camera which would beat all the competition.
I used the NX recently actually at the
Tennis Masters and I used the miniature mode
which created a the lovely tilt shift
feel to it so it's basically blown the background and foreground out on
the subject; the tennis player was pinsharp.
I've not seen a better Smart Mode than that
before.
