The next snare comping pattern we're going to use is playing on the "and a's" of every
beat. So, one, and a two, and a three, and a four, and a one, and a two, and a three,
and a four, and a. So let's match this up with our Jazz ride pattern. One other thing
you can do with a lot of these is play them off to the side on the snare. If you play
right in the middle where the snare strands are, you're going to get that sound. Where
as if you play over on the side, you're going to get more of this ringing sound, and sometimes
in Jazz it might be what you want. So as you can see, the snare drum can give us a lot
of different sounds, and Jazz is one of the types of music where we're really going to
play around with playing rim, the middle, all over the, the head of the snare.
