Hi, I’m Elliott Davis, I’m a first year and I’m a Broadcast Journalism student.
For me, I knew before I even came here that what I want to do is be on the radio;
I want to go in, present and coming here with all of the resources available to me;
it’s the best place to come. Every single week we’re learning brand new things
and it’s constantly something I can put to my CV.
I do a lot of things outside of the University which are all aided by the things within.
A lot of hospital radio, also the radio here, RadioHudd at the University; it’s brilliant.
You’ve got your digital radio studios which apiece are worth I think 25-30 thousand pounds.
What we have is the ability to put on radio shows and with the right amount of passion, people can create really good stuff.
The course appealed to me because I saw the facilities that we had here and,
second to none; they were just fantastic. Radio studios, TV studios, loads of editing suites – industry standard;
it’s really really good.
It gives us a chance to take some really cool cameras out.
We got some really good footage of the UFO landing. We were there just filming, it happened
and we’re the only people on Youtube to have 1080p footage.
We have about 412 million hits on Youtube which is only slightly, fractionally less than Charlie bit my finger or Dramatic chipmunk.
I’ve developed in lots and lots of ways
thanks to the University. It’s opened a lot of doors.
You get taught by lecturers who are experts. I get taught by two DJs at the moment.
You’re learning from people who have been there. It’s inspiring.
Specifically for my course, I have not seen anywhere in the country that comes close to the University of Huddersfield.
