We are seeing that actually disease and I'm talking now about sicknesses like cancer and
heart disease and diabetes and many of these immune system related disorders such as fibromyalgia
can actually be prevented and can be prevented by getting a large quantity of these micronutrients
into your body every day. They are now studying that, they are measuring that and you are
going to hear more and more about that in the future. In fact the American Heart Association
and the American Cancer Society who studies this sort of thing. They're gone in the last
five years from five helpings of raw fruits and vegetables a day until they are now at
the level of nine to thirteen helpings a day and this is because of what they are discovering
abut the synergism and when I say nine to thirteen helpings I'm talking different fruits
and vegetables and we're talking every day not sporadically. The reason for that is is
that you and I are generating a significant amount of oxidation just by living here on
this planet and oxidation produces what they call free radical activity and free radical
activity is extremely destructive in the body unless you have got corresponding antioxidants.
So it is kind of like a teeter totter what we are trying to do here is level the playing
field. The more oxidation that is being created and stress is one of the big producers, a
lot of exercise will produce quite a bit of oxidation as well and a lot of the different
foods that we eat also are contributing to that so oxidation is a fact. Some people have
a lot more than others and have a greater need for more antioxidants but we all have
need to try to keep that thing balanced and that is sort of a parallel course to balancing
your immune system. We all want to have a balanced immune system. What do I mean by
that? I mean one that is functioning normally and properly and it is in there fighting disease
and it is taking care of the free radical activity so it is not out there destroying
cells and breaking down your body because when you get sick, when you get disease it
is because your immune system is no longer functioning the way it is supposed to. So
a lot of our wellness program has to do with focusing on how do we get our immune systems
performing properly.
