Hi, I'm Jim, Senior Engineer at Sangamo and today i'm going to talk about setting
the omit disc device
first of all, where is it located? So if we remove the clear cover
behind
the main dial assembly is a black disc
and it's that black disc
that is your omit disc device
you can make adjustments
to this device without removing
the dial assembly
but it's a lot easier to show you
operation
on video if I remove
the dial assembly so that you can get a clear view
so what you've got is, you've got the main black disc
which has day markings
on it
and then for each day you've got
a slotted white insert with an arrow embossed
the default position is for these arrows to be pointing
inwards
i.e. the switch will operate on all days
of the week
so if you wanted to omit a day
you would turn
the arrow
so that it's pointing outwards
so for example if we take Sunday
I would first
rotate
to find the correct day and then
using my thumb
hold
in position
and using a small screwdriver
turn the arrow so it's pointing outwards
and you can do that for
however many days you want to
so once that's that's complete
next step is
to set the dial
so in this case, with the video, I've refitted
the dial but
you we could have been still in situ
and you would turn the the dial so it's pointing at the correct time
and you'll have noticed
as I turn the dial that the
first 'on' in the day
or the 'on'
operating arm nearest
the front plate
indexed
the omit day
device
so it's important when you're
resetting
the main dial
that you take into account
the position
of the first 'on'
if the first 'on' has passed
by the
day omit device
then make sure
that the day arrow is pointing at the current day
if, for whatever reason or what ever the settings are that are being used
the first 'on' in the day has not passed
the day omit device, ensure
that the day arrow
points at the preceding day
so this is basically how to go about setting
the day omit device, I hope it's been of use to you
I'll just refit the clear cover
