2o episode - A pianist vacations
Im very happy today!
Do you know why Im so happy?
Vacations!
psss..Have you ever seen a pianist in vacation?
Maybe?
One day without playing you feel the difference
Two days without playing your teacher feels the difference
But if you stay one week without playing, than you're public will fell the difference
My family is waiting for me in Spain for Christmas. What am i going to do?
Then good Luck finding a piano there
Destination - Spain (Figueras)
And here we go, my adventure trying to find a piano began
I was in a small city called Figueras.
For those who doesn't know, its a city near France, where Salvador Dali (the painter) was born.
After searching a lot for a piano I finally found a small school in this town
They where very nice to me!
I was even impressed! A tiny school but full of life..full of music
But the school closed for Christmas holidays
I was desperate, I couldn't stay one week, 10 days without practicing. I was going to loose agility, musculature..
You think Im exaggerating but Im not..Im telling the truth
I was lucky to find another place in a even smaller town
The best part is that they give me the key
I took the opportunity the best I could
And after a few days I saw a violin on the corner of the room
I don't know if you know but my first instrument actually was the violin, and i was much more violinist than pianist
But even loving both instruments I was advised to choose one of them
It was one of the most difficult choices of my life
Thank god I choose the piano, lol
I think I choose the most delightful and gratifying profession in the world
In fact I actually dont even see that as a profession. i think there is a bigger purpose behind all that
Are you beginning music studies? Do you love music? Go for it! There is nothing better!
The important is that if you chose the piano, the violin, the flute..
You need to dedicate, you need to give your best
And of course everything is not always perfect as you can imagine. (Life is not a bed of roses)
Sometimes you study and study until exhaustion and just doesn't work as you want
That small passage and difficult part just doesn't work. It happens, no one borns knowing everything
And I also got through many frustrating moments. Its normal to happen
But after a lot of study this frustration becomes in pure ecstasy because things work
If you study, its hundred percent sure that you will success
The best things that happened in this trip..
In this same small town..an medieval town whit less than 10.000 people
There was an cathedral, and in this cathedral there was an organ with more than 4500 tubes, more than 300 years old
And just guess what happened? I had the opportunity to play in a historic organ
When i talk about organ im referring about the instrument ok? just to clear out! lol
Anyways, i will show to you how it was. To me was incredible!!
Besides the two keyboards i even tried to use the organ pedals also.
But o my god, you really need coordination! lol
(Laughs) it was terrible!
