Hi, and welcome to Unisports WebTV
Todays it's time to;
That we send this generation of Adizero,
Into boot-retirement,
Because I'm going to be introducing you, to the latest generation -
Of Adizero.
It's Adidas' speed-boot,
And once again, the Germans promise
Plenty of speed,
Low weight, and a really sharp touch on the ball.
The boot has, as you can see, been given a design update.
And has been modernised in some quite significant places,
But what has been changed, compared to the earlier Adizero?
Find out today,
When it's time for a presentation, of this brand new speed boot.
Welcome!
Adizero is comprised of 3 main elements,
Sprintweb -
Sprintskin -
And Sprintframe.
And especially on the Sprintweb area -
There has been big changes compared to,
The last Adizero model,
That's something new on the 4th generation -
Of Adidas' speed-boot.
If we look back at the older generations -
The 3rd generation.
Then they have taken the sprintweb-band, That went across the top of the upper-
And removed it!
Where they, on the new boot, have put it on the heel -
It's this grey stripe,
That you'll find on the 4th generation of Adizero.
They have however opted to stick with this Sprintweb-band, that runs across the nose of the boot.
As a cool feature -
The Adidas stripes - are now a part of the outer-sprintweb
Now that's worth an extra look!
Time to enter "nerd-mode"
To look at this change in sprintweb -
Adidas say they have removed this band -
Because it created a "lockdown effect"
Basically what it did was grab the foot,
But if your foots shape didn't match the boots -
It could actually give comfort problems -
And the flexibility was worse too -
When compared to earlier models, that didn't have this band.
Adidas say they have changed this -
By upgrading these stripes -
So the upper is more flexible,
And accommodates the foot better,
The cool thing about the old band was -
It gave great stability,
Adidas say they have kept that in the new boot,
As well as -
It being more flexible!
On the inside of the boot -
Adidas have also decided to change the Sprintweb construction,
So they have dropped this -
Skeleton like construction they have had on the 3 earlier generations
And made this new green one.
That should give greater support to your foot -
That's what Adidas promise anyway.
Another nifty feature -
Is that these Adidas stripes work as more than sprintweb.
Because Adidas have chosen to coat them with a 3D texture.
So they grip the ball when you dribble -
So they are more than just a way to recognise this, as an Adidas boot.
That's quite smart -
And I'm looking forward to seeing if it works,
When I review the boot, in a not too distant future!
F50 Adizero in leather -
Also has sprintweb,
But it's only the heel-band,
This means neither the Adidas stripes -
This TPU-bottom frame
Or these internal TPU-support bands,
Are equipped on the leather boot -
And that's basically just because this leather material -
Is strong enough to support itself -
And support your feet.
So there's just not the same need for sprintweb, like on the microfibre.
The microfibre boot is once again made with;
Sprintskin 2 -
That is made from a material, that Adidas call "AdiLight Twin"
But contrary to what the name "Twin" suggests -
Then this Adilight twin material, is a single layer of microfibre,
That's 1,7 millimeters "thick"
Or as I should say thin -
And this is one of the things that make this boot so light,
and it really is.
At the same time the upper has a slightly more bumpy surface,
Than the earlier Adizero models,
This means you get a really good grip on the ball,
This should help you get better dribbling,
And at the same time the material isn't very thick -
This should give you a very precise touch on the ball,
So it's a boot for the technically gifted player, who demands quick feet -
And to beat his direct opponent,
The leather version of Adizero -
Has kept the upper material from last years model,
And incorporated into the newest generation -
Because once again, We find "goleo-leather" on the upper -
Goleo is a calf-skin material,
That is slightly sturdier than kangaroo leather -
But still is soft,
The feel cant be compared to kangaroo-leather -
But on the other hand it lasts much, much, longer.
On the inside of the boot -
The Adizero has a soft suede covering,
That makes the comfort quite good,
Like there also was on the last of the predecessors -
It's like the saying: "Don't change a winning team".
One last thing:
That the nose of the leather,
Is again -
A little higher than the one, on the microfibre version.
Which suggests they have stuck to the tendency -
That the microfibre boots have focused on sharpness -
And the leather more on comfort.
Pew! Pew! WROOOM!
One thing that is completely identical, with the two boots,
Is the stud-configuration and sole -
Where Adidas has decided to keep their sprintframe 2.0 and stud-system.
And thats exactly the same,
As on the earlier models of Adizero,
It seems Adidas thought;
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
And well they haven't,
At the same time the sole is naturally compatible, with MiCoach
Which basically means you can put this little chip into the boot,
Then it can just lie there and track your movement on the pitch -
And when you then come home after football -
Then you can transfer data via; Beam and Wifi -
To either your computer, or your I-device -
Iphone, Ipad or Ipod Touch.
Then you can track how well you did on the pitch,
Really quite entertaining.
The Sprintframe 2 stud-system -
Is designed so all the studs -
Have different uses on the pitch.
The two front studs are designed for acceleration -
And there's even two small arrows -
That signal that it's all about moving forward!
And these two studs work -
Like a set of teeth that just need to bite into the ground.
So you can get out the blocks as fast as possible.
These 4 studs here -
Just bellow the footpad,
Are designed to enhance your sideways running -
To get the most out of your efforts -
And Adidas have worked out you run more sideways in a football game, then you would normally think.
These slightly smaller studs -
Are designed to give you stability when you run,
And make things a little more comfortable.
Last, but not least -
There's this angled singleton stud,
To help you brake, in other words your deceleration.
Adidas must be quite pleased with this stud-configuration,
Because it hasn't changed one bit,
Since the last generation,
But it's like I said:
If nothings wrong with it, why change it?
This sprintframe-sole,
Is like I mentioned incredibly thin -
And is actually one of the main factors, Behind that low weight.
If you look at the scale,
The microfibre still weighs 165g -
And the leather boot -
Has gotten a bit fatter and now weighs 203g.
That's a weight increase of 20g -
But this is because, for one: that there's a bit more leather on the boot -
And two: that they have sown on the Adidas stripes, with yet another bit of leather.
And this does mean it weighs a bit more.
But let's not forget, for a leather boot, it's still very light.
But it has gotten a bit heavier.
Adidas have established Adizero, as a top speed-boot -
Since they introduced the 1st generation, back in May 2010,
Now it's November 2012 -
And we are on generation 4, of the light-weight speed-boot.
Adidas have on this new generation of Adizero boots -
Opted to keep a lot of the virtues that made the others so popular -
But they have also chosen, to change a few things, radically.
Especially on the construction of this Sprintweb,
It'll be very interesting to see, if these changes work -
And it's a better boot than the previous Adizeros.
I'm certainly looking forward to seeing -
How this Sprintweb construction and the changing of it -
affects the boots performance -
I expect the upper to be more flexible,
Than the earlier generations -
Especially on the microfibre version.
But I guess time will tell -
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how quick it is -
As adidas put it;
"Find"
"Fast"
Are you excited? and what are your first impressions?
Is the design too much?
Or is it super spacey and cool,
Please do tell us, in the box down bellow.
This is all I had for today,
But keep a sharp eye on our page,
Because I'll soon be reviewing the new Adizero,
Hope your well, until the next time we meet right here!
