Hi! I’m Mathie from Pintura Facil Para Ti (easy painting for you)
I'll show you today how to decorate a candle.
First, we start cleaning our candle with a little alcohol.
For this purpose, you can use cotton wool, a dust cloth, or a kitchen paper towel, whatever you prefer.
The idea is to relieve any fat surplus from the surface, any impurity, dust or dirtiness.
After cleaning,let it dry.
Please repeat this procedure until you have the feeling that you have removed the most amount of fat from the surface of the candle.
As soon as the candle is clean and dry,
I proceed to apply a polyurethane gloss paint to create the basis to paint above with the acrylic paint.
Painting the candles can grant a new look to candles that have lost their color,
or that were kept at home for a long time, or to make your own business with,
or if you want more fanciful candles.
It is important to choose big candles in order to have enough wall
working as a bell glass as it burns down, preventing also the ignition of the painted area.
We let the candle dry between each gloss paint layer
and we give two or three layers to be able to paint without problems.
Now that I have glazed my candle, I can start painting as if it were a piece of wood.
Again I will allow drying between each layer of paint, making as many layer as necessary until it's even.
Don't forget to clean the edges like this, using your finger
or a moist cloth, as long as they are still wet to have them tidy.
Don't worry if the first layers don't come up even
and if you still see the candle underneath the paint.
You just have to keep applying base painting to cover the surface.
I hope you enjoy this technique and
I invite you to follow this project in our web site PinturaFacilParaTi.com or in our next video. Bye!
