1, 2, 3. Yay!
It's been a very exciting year for the Chula Vista Master Bayfront Project.
We started the year with the implosion...
And we're ending the year with the shovels starting work on our H Street Expansion.
I'm Ann Moore, Chair of the Board of Port Commissioners and I'm proud to be here as
we break ground on a key milestone in our bayfront master plan, the extension of H Street
toward the waterfront.
It really signifies the ability of this community to be able to access its waterfront, which
is really important for every community to be able to do that.
Here we have this beautiful resource sitting here, but yet it's very difficult for our
citizens to be able to access it, so this allows them to be able to easily get down
to the waterfront and to enjoy everything that it has to offer.
You know, probably for the first time in 60 years H Street will open from the hills to
the beach.
That sounds good doesn't it?
These folks who are going to actually do the digging work after our hard hats are removed
are people who are working for their communities and for their families, and we are very grateful
that they're here.
And where we stand today will be almost the full western point of the only corridor in
Chula Vista that connects east to west with the same name.
The extension of H Street will open up views for everyone driving along this main corridor.
People will have direct access to our bayfront.
