Workplace violence goes on day in and day out. There are millions of incidents per year
in workplace violence, and they range from threatening and intimidating behavior to bullying,
to pushing and shoving, to passive aggressive behavior, and a lot of that is or isn't covered
by company policy and procedure as to what is appropriate behavior in the workplace.
So Huffmaster, of course, has been in position for a long time to address those types of
incidents that push up against policy violations, and it starts with the fundamental premise
that typically when an HR professional hears about a concern over violence in the workplace,
they are examining that from a violation of company policy perspective. Lacking policy,
they're examining it from an inappropriate behavior perspective in the workplace. Often
we find that they're immobilized by their inability to get the facts. So if somebody
says to me "Did you threaten Loretta?" and I go "No, I didn't, and if she assumed or
felt that I was threatening her, I'm sorry, but I didn't threaten her, nor did I mean
to." Many people don't have the ability to press further in that conversation to get
really to the facts, to get an admission. Well we do, Huffmaster does, we have that
expertise. Over the years, we've also learned that there are processes that you go through
during that interview and information gathering phase that can be trained, and so one of the
values that we bring to our client base is that we can train human resources professionals
to conduct at least the fundamental information gathering steps in a manner that's competent,
and to identify when they need additional help and who that help could be, and it could
be Huffmaster. We believe it should be Huffmaster, of course.
