Hi! My name is Jeff and I want to talk to you a little bit about storing photographic
chemicals. You want to be sure and write on the jug what chemical it is and the date that
you mixed it. If you use the same chemicals at different dilutions, then you might want
to put the dilution on there as well. For developers especially, you want to use these
brown jugs to keep the light away from it. Stop bath will keep indefinitely whether it
is diluted or full strength. Fixer won’t keep indefinitely but you can reuse it for
quite a while. I think most people use it to exhaustion. I think you get something like
24 rolls a gallon or something like that out of it. If it starts getting white particles
in it, if it’s not just clear, then I would discard it. You can use a product Hypocheck;
just one drop in fixer. It doesn’t hurt the fixer. If that drop turns white, the fixer
is exhausted and you need to get rid of it. If you don’t see white, then the fixer is
fine and it is good to use. Photoflow you are going to use one time. I would suggest
just diluting it, how much you are going to use in that session, use it and then discard
it.
