My name is Stephen Sullivan, I am Assistant Professor of Biology and I teach human
anatomy and physiology one and two, Basic Human Anatomy
and integration of knowledge. My class sizes
cap at twenty-four.
No matter what, whether it's face to face hybrid or online.
Every one of my classes has a website through BlackBoard WebCT.
There's e-mail, there's discussion boards, there's chat rooms, we use them all and I
also keep an
instant messenger ID open
that's specifically for students so whenever i have office hours or
whenever I'm
working on my class
I sign into
instant messenger incase one of the students want to ask a question they can
see me online and they can go ahead and shoot.
One of the things I love
about Bucks students is the diversity of students.
I have students who are nineteen years old, I have students who are in high school,
I've had a couple of students who are
going to Bucks while they finish up their high school and getting college credit.
So uhh...and I've had students in their sixties.
I've had students who have zero college experience, i've had students who have
masters degrees already.
There is an enormous diversity of students
here at Bucks. A lot of my students they come in cold, they haven't taken many
courses in college yet or they took a lot of courses in college years ago
and they're starting again as a second career or their kids have grown up
and now they've decided they want to start a career. In addition to the web
there it is other technology we have, microscopes hooked up to cameras where
you can help monitor or an instructor could be using a microscope
and the entire class can see what's under the microscope. Bucks
has it's own campus in Tyler State Park, it's it's beautiful. Whenever we
interview prospective faculty members, I've been on a few search committees,
they always come and the first thing they say is "You have a beautiful campus."
I think students who are trying to decide where to go to
college should really consider Bucks because what they're going to get
here is a learning experience,
they're going to learn not only
about
finance or anatomy and physiology or
how to write a paper,
they're going to learn
how to learn those things as well
and how to how to learn how to study
and they're gonna get that here.
And they're going to get it a lot cheaper than they're gonna get it at a University.
this is a great place for them to come because they're really going to learn
those things are going to learn about themselves, they're gonna learn about the kind of student
they are and then when they transfer to another institution they're going to be like
up on everybody else.
