Hello everyone, Zerok's here as always. Today we have a small video.
I don't even know if I should call it a review or "let's play". Basically, it's the two at the same time.
The subject of today's review-play is a small game called "Countryball World".
You've probably heard about the CountryBall memes, because they're now quite popular. And it seems like
And it seems like someone made a game based on them, so I decided to give it a try.
First of all, I want to say that it's an alpha version, so it doesn't have any sounds or battles, which are going to be added later.
And also it has some small bugs. By the way, to run the game properly,
I had to google and waste about 15 minutes to fix a dll bug.
Maybe it's because I have Windows 8, but I'm not sure if it depends on the system. After 15 minutes of googling everything fixed and the game started.
The links to the article that helped me and for the game itself will be in the description.
I don't like the "plastic bag" effect. I don't know if the author drew this himself or not, because the drawing becomes better after this.
As you can see, there's nothing much to change in the options, because there's no sound in the game yet.
But you can change your player name and there's an option for language,
but I'm not sure if there're any alternative language files, probably not.
After the alpha, they'll probably be added.
So, there's an exit button, help, and a link to author's page.
So, right now we don't need this, we'll just start a new game.
The author says that the reason for that is that it's still the alpha version.
Let's get started. Who are we going to play for?
*lists some countryball names lol*
That's sad that it doesn't have USSR... But maybe it has, I'm not sure though.
Oh wait, what was that? Ah, China.
Japan... Le'ts play with Japan! And I should say that you should set the "victory" option for 100% progress,
because otherwise there's no sense in playing the game yet, lol.
Who are we going to fight with? Maybe the americans... But, yeah, we can just leave it blank, the war thing doesn't work yet.
Let's just start the game. We should wait a few seconds while the whole thing loads...
Actually, the game reminds me the Jew Simulator.
By the way, Japan is quite well developed, probably it was a bad decision to choose it.
But the video is going to be short anyway, so it doesn't *** matter.
Let's see what we have here... First of all, we need to build some hospitals. You can also sell the buildings.
Let's build a farm too. And then you should press "End Turn" and you get your per turn money, resources and etc.
Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of people yet.
There's a production tab where it shows the turn balance of your resources and the current condition.
You can also change your political system. *** monarchy. Ah, *** it, let it be monarchy.
There are some improvements, for example you can create an immigration wave to increase your population, or...
Hehehe, Buddhism. Here, have your happiness! Or is it ecology? Oh, yeah, it increases your ecology value.
Eh, resources... Here... Yeah. And some immigration waves.
And let's end our turn. What's our condition? Woah, we have some serious hunger!
Let's build one more farm. End turn, build farm again. Seems like nobody died yet...
Or they did, lol. Who gives a *** anyway? :D
Let's send someone to go catch some fish. End turn again. Two more farms. End turn. One more farm. Look, it's all better now!
We need to increase all the values to 100.
Here we have technology, industry, culture, health, ecology and happiness. So we need to get everything to one hundred.
That's the point of the game right now. I could've chosen to continue the game forever, but I don't see any reason, because you can't save the game yet.
We need to... Increase the health.
What can I do to increase their health? Let's end the turn. One more turn.
Here, we built a hospital. The population's health decreases. Oh, the happiness is *** up too, lol.
Let's increase their health. And their happiness too. One more turn. One more.
Let's build a university. The technology value is 85 now. Our health is decreasing...
Bloody hell! The health value is dropping too fast. We need to vaccinate them as fast as we can.
We need to... build some more hospitals. *** ***. Why the *** would they need so many hospitals?
They already have 9! Let's see... No, they're still dying. Let's make some money. Woah,
Let's make some money. Woah, by the way, you can make lots of money like this.
So we have a lot of money now... We can build lots of hospitals, lol
As you can see, our health starts to increase.
Let's build one more university. And a lab. One more lab. And our technology level is now 100!
We now have to increase the industry value. I think that we have to increase the number of the universities again.
We can also build a farm... As you can see, everything is okay. So, I nearly finished the game. Again, Japan is a pretty well developed county.
And there are some countries where you start with 20's and 30's for all values. That's really *** up!
Where do we raise culture? Oh, wait, I need too...
Now we can build something again.
Why the *** doesn't the industry level increase? Ohhh, we needed a factory! One more factory...
Let's take a look... Oh, they're starving... So, now it's okay. One more factory and... Let's end the turn.
Here! We won the game in 29 turns :D So, that's it. That's all you can do now.
But I'll just show you... What the?? Go away. So I'll just show you the other tabs that I didn't show.
Let's choose any country, for example, Algeria. Let's chose Algeria.
I need to show you the tabs and the difference between the starting values.
I think there should be a major difference between Algeria and Japan, lol. Yeah, as you can see, the technology, industry and health are poor developed here.
But everything is okay with health, happiness and ecology. And there are 46% of progress. So that's not so much.
Here's what I didn't show. There's an army, which you can't use yet, because it's still alpha.
There're messages, for example when you change the political system, it tells you that the people are not satisfied, and that can cause riots.
And there'sa world map, that doesn't *** do anything yet. I don't know why it's in the alpha.
So, that's it. Seriously, that's it.
I think that in the end, it's going to be a really interesting game, especially if you can make some battles with other countries. Maybe even some kind of multiplayer, lol.
For example, you're Japan and your friend is China, go *** each other.
I hope that the project won't die or freeze, and everything will be okay.
And to the creator of this awesome game with a lot of small bugs (lol) I wish good luck in this project!
Thanks for your attention, it was Zerok with you, presenting you a review... or a "let's play", or something like that... on the "Countryball World" game.
Goodbye!
