In this video we are going to have a look at the Journal tool.
The Journal tool in Learnline is often set up by lecturers to help students with self-reflection.
I am currently in Module 4 so I am going to click on the Online Journal item in the unit menu,
and that will take us into the Journal.
It is a pretty simple interface.
Currently there is one Journal set up here and you can see that it is a private journal,
which means just yourself and your lecturers will be able to see your work.
So you click on the journal heading to go in,
and then you can see we have some instructions for an activity.
After you watched this video come back to the journal tool and you can do an activity,
where you a post a journal entry.
So you can see the interface here - you have your name on the right hand side.
You have an index of the entries that you have made here,
and you can see down the bottom here is one of my entries.
If I wanted to read that from the list of entries you click on there,
and you can see that there is comments there as well,
which are pretty straightforward.
So getting around the journal tool is not difficult at all.
If you want to collapse the instructions you can do so from here,
and if you want to create a journal entry you can do so from this button here.
Once you have clicked the button you bring up the Visual Content Editor,
and so you can put your material in there.
If you want to attach a file you can you it down here by browsing your computer
When you are ready you can either save the draft or post it as an entry
You also have the ability to edit an existing post or entry
by clicking on this little arrow next to the title of the entry and selecting 'Edit'
that will bring what you your wrote before
and you can easily make changes or add new things in there
when you have finished making the changes you can click 'Post Entry'
When you are ready you can either save the draft or post it as an entry
So in the next activity that is coming up you can go ahead and post a journal entry
For now, that is a quick overview of the journal tool
