Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge and I'm a home school mom. How do you get a physical fitness program
in your home school. Obviously, the easiest dancer is to send your kids out to play. But
if you're looking for something a little bit more formal than that, you might try looking
at the Presidential Council On Physical Fitness. Your kids can participate in that program,
the same as any other school kids across the country. In fact if you want to have a little
bit of fun, organize it for your home school community and have all the kids do it together.
Also, look into Coop opportunities. You might be able to find dance classes or tennis classes
or anyone of a number of other home school opportunities through your local Coops. If
none of those possibilities work for you, check out your County recreation because they
will also have youth tennis, golf, gymnastics, anyone of a number of programs. And don't
forget about your dance academies if you have a budding ballerina in your house. All of
those things aside, you don't need anything formal. You can always take your kids to the
park, meet up with other home schoolers and just play. Teach them some new games. Maybe
they don't know how to do Double Dutch or Chinese Jump Rope or even play Jacks. In fact,
I found that a lot of kids don't have any idea of the rules on those old games that
we used to play in the days before TV. But then, I'm dating myself. The point is, get
out there, play with your kids, give them opportunities to be with other kids and to
play some of those great old games and then, you've got a wonderful home school program
for your kids. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great home school day.
