Hi, I'm excited to share this briefing with you on my new book 'The Gamification
of Learning and Instruction'. I've written the book with my friends and colleagues
Lucas Blair and Rich Mesch, and together we've put together a practical
hands-on approach so you can build your own games,
gamification events and learning games.
The idea behind the book was to build on my first book
'The Gamification of Learning and Instruction', which was filled with ideas,
concepts and research about what makes games,
gamification and simulations effective
from a learning and development perspective.
This book, 'The Gamification of Learning and Instruction Fieldbook: Theory into Practice'
is filled with worksheets, examples,
samples... things for you to do to take your own
ideas and concepts and turn them into exciting
game-based learning, simulations or gamification
events. This book is meant to be dog-eared, you should
pull back pages, circle what you like, fill-in the worksheets,
fold back the cover... it's a working book, a book that you have side by side with you
as you create instruction. That's the idea behind 'The Gamification of Learning and Instruction Fieldbook.
A book you take with you
as you create exciting, engaging game-based learning,
gamification and simulations. I'm sure
you'll find the Fieldbook very useful and helpful
when you create engaging, exciting learning.
Finally. I'd like to thank Learnnovators for having me
do this stop on the blog book tour. I wish
all of the readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Let's learn and innovate into the New Year
and beyond...
