Currently, I'm at the 30th minute of Sungazing, which is quite a lot,
thanks to the good weather we had recently.
During the winter I could barely progress, perhaps one minute in three months
and that's a bit like starvation when you're used to do Sungazing.
Friends of mine who also practise Sungazing and I realised that we got
literally sun-hungry and we couldn't wait for the next day to see
the sun and continue.
Quite a few things have evolved. Sometimes it seams to me that
I have a sharper vision.
Now it is mid May and since February I am eating
about 40% of what I used to eat a year ago,
without loosing weight.
When I am stressed or there is a rainy week it increases
to 70% compared to my former quantity. But it also happened that it
decreased to 20% at times when I was balanced and meditated a lot,
but without getting hungry. You just don't feel hungry.
A lot happened, that's why I printed it out so I don't forget interesting bits.
An impressive moment was after I let examine my eyesight by an
eye specialist at minute 16 and everything was fine.
The next examination is due because I am at minute 30 now.
I'm curious what the situation is now.
Not that I'd be afraid, but to feed the German sceptics with data.
After Sungazing a strange incident occured; I meditated for three hours (Vipassana)
and did a meditation which is recommended by Sunyogi Umashankar, called Photograph Meditation.
You take a photo of yourself, put it on a wall,
sit in front of it within this distance,
first you look in both eyes, then in one eye,
then in the pupil for about half an hour or an hour.
Until a light appears out of the pupil; that's his instruction.
Didn't happen to me yet. But after this meditation,
at minute 16 of Sungazing, I realised that I stopped breathing while Sungazing. 0:03:00.000,0:03:05.000 I felt no need to breathe, I just stopped.
This reappeared on two other occasions. To stop breathing intentionally is a part
of the Red Sun from Kunlun, but it is very exhausting.
With Sungazing it just happens and you don't even realise it.
I don't know the meaning of this, but it appears a few times
and you don't panic.
I suspect that fears of dying are being erased, since they
are connected to the breath, but that's just an assumption.
At the same time a clear conscience and ease of mind reinstated. Very pleasant.
The afterglow hasn't prolonged; it lasts still for just a few seconds
when I have a clear mind. Two or three minutes at most.
Seems that this won't change anymore. Sunyogi Umashankar predicts that you'll see
a blue or a turquoise sun or moving rings around the sun,
which happened to me. Sometimes my sight wanders under the sun
and the sun gets black. Like a pupil you look into.
Don't know yet what this means. Umashankarji will be in Europe
this summer and I'll ask him.
This happened to others, too, so this might be interesting.
A funny thing that happened with a seven year old neighbour's daughter:
she played in my garden, then took my head between her hands,
looked earnestly in my eyes and said
“Something is different about you!”. – “What is it?” –
“Its your head.” – “What exactly?” – “Your eyes, they gleam.”
And she doesn't know what I am doing. So it's nice that
one could see it, although I don't notice any changes.
There was also a period, few days, when I had extremely long and clear dreams,
like lucid dreams. I could determine the content and direct the action.
It was a phase, now it's over.
I need less sleep than before.
It used to be nine hours, now I need six.
Then there are periods when I need more sleep but less food
or vice versa. Usually it is less food and seven and a half
hours of sleep.
A suggestion from Umashankarji could be of help to you.
That is that you should make friendship with the sun.
It is like sending love. And I saw that things happen,
that you get things in return.
It gets hot here and opens.
It feels as if it opens, you start smiling and feeling very good. 0:07:02.000,0:07:05.000 Pure love one could say.
At minute 30 this part of the body, I would say the phrenic
or upper colon, got pleasantly hot.
Afterwards I got diarrhoea and since I am more relaxed
in the area around the stomach.
It complies to what Umashankarji said that the body purifies
from top to bottom.
Afterwards in reverse, from bottom to top.
I can confirm this, since I felt it at the chest while I was
at the 13th minute, then the solar plexus and the upper abdomen.
Lets wait if it will wander further down and causes relaxation there.
Once it was too cloudy to sungaze but for a moment the sun
was to be seen.
I looked into it, without the intention to do Sungazing,
then closed the eyes to observe the afterglow;
and the afterglow was extremely sharp, a circle with spinning triangles around it.
It happened once but was very exciting because it was so clear.
Not directly connected is the fact that I sometimes do not see a circle,
but an octagon. Once the afterglow was a pyramid
with the peak on top and a peak on the downside,
like a triangle altering from the peak on top to the peak on the downside
until it looked like a hexagon or the "Star of David".
It is fascinating when you look into a circle which then
turns into a triangle or hexagon.
I also sensed a pulsation between the left and right eye.
It gets brighter and then darker until it equalises to a pulsation
in both eyes. It seems that it goes upward to the sun.
This happens mostly in the evening sun and when I have a clear and straight sight.
It feels very good, but I can't explain the reason and meaning of it. 0:10:15.000,0:10:20.000 Another thing I first didn't realise, only after I read a report by a woman
in America, who wrote that she was less sensible to heat
since she started Sungazing. It is the same with me.
I turned down the thermostat for the heating by one or two degrees
because I don't need it that hot anymore. I used to be a frostbite.
Now I am sweating less in the hot and freeze less in the cold.
This is in accordance to what Umashankarji says, that you adapt to the environment.
Perhaps I will be able to walk the Himalaya bare-footed like him
and to lay in the snow and feel lucky.
In winter I tried it and after being bare-footed in the snow
for three minutes I had to give up.
Lets wait if it will be better next winter.
That was a quick summary of all events that happened.
What I recommend to everybody and what Hira Ratan Manek didn't mention,
is to send love to the sun while looking into it.
This makes a difference. If you want to go further,
there is the Gayatri Mantra I publicised on the Sungazing group on Facebook,
soon also on www.sungazing.de, which details what to say while doing it.
It activates the heart and is pretty the same as sending love,
but perhaps easier to start with.
Another friend of mine
is at minute 40, others at 15 or 20.
I hope they will write a report since it is very new and
it could convince people to start it.
Otherwise I feel healthy and fit. But I can't say if it is enhancing
the health, since I wasn't sick before.
It is definitely relaxing, generates good feelings and
eliminates the negative thoughts. To me, it is a good companion to Vipassana.
I'll report after I've finished the 44th minute of Sungazing according
to Hira Ratan Manek to tell about new experiences and medical examinations
that proof the harmlessness, as long as you follow the instructions.
Should this be the first time you hear anything about Sungazing
then visit www.sungazing.de; there you'll find all the information,
movies and even a book, everything explaining how to reach the main goal,
self-awareness.
I didn't wonder why in the word "enlightenment"
you find the word "light". Perhaps there is a relation.
A side benefit is that you
don't need other energy sources. You simply activate the inner sun,
the heart, with the help of the outer sun;
and this is clearly noticeable. And I hope not only for me
but for all others who practise this.
Enjoy and see you soon.
