Welcome to this new video, which will focus on the transformations for the basic block pattern.
As you know, your block pattern is the starting point that represents your body in two dimensions,
which allows you to create your other patterns ...
This means that in order to create a pattern, you will have to transform it ...!
Hi, Zouzou !
Are the girls here ?
Yes, of course !
Most of the time, transformations are enlargements.
The most important is the bust enlargement. It also must be lowered.
Like this : in the extension of the bust line...
...and then go down from this point.
Here is the result.
I understand now...
Here are some examples to inspire you :
Suppose you make a fitted blouse with sleeves,
The transformations are :
Bust : 8 to 14cm - Waist : 2 to 6cm Hip : 2 to 8cm - Armhole down : 1 to 3cm
If you make a wide blouse with sleeves, transformations are :
Bust : 20 to 30cm The waist and hip are not concerned Armhole down : 3 to 7cm
Here you make a tailored dress with sleeves,
Bust : 6 to 14cm - Waist : 2 to 6cm Hip : 2 to 8cm - Armhole down : 1 to 3cm
For a tailored dress with straps,
Bust : 0 to 2cm - Waist : 2 to 6cm Hip : 2 to 6cm - Armhole down : 1cm
If the dress is sleeveless but tailored,
Bust : 2 to 4cm - Waist : 2 to 6cm Hip : 2 to 8cm - Armhole down : 1 to 3cm
A vest worn over a shirt,
Hey, they can read, you know…
So then I let you read… Bust : 6 to 10cm Waist : 4 to 10cm - The hip is not concerned Armhole down : 3 to 10cm
For a suit : you know the principle ... Bust : 12 to 16cm Waist : 6 to 10cm - Hip : 8 to 14cm Armhole down : 2 to 4cm
For a 3/4 straight jacket : Bust : 14 to 22cm waist and hip are not concerned Armhole down : 2 to 5cm
For a frock coat : Bust : 12 to 16cm Waist : 6 to 10cm - Hip : 8 to 14cm Armhole down : 2 to 4cm
For a simple straight coat : Bust : 20 to 25cm waist and hip are not concerned Down from armhole: 3 to 6cm
For a blouson type jacket : Bust : 25 to 30cm waist and hip are not concerned Down from armhole : 4 to 8cm
And finally a quilted parka : Bust : up to 50cm waist and hip are not concerned Down from armhole: 10cm
If you use a cozy lining, add at least 4cm to all enlargements and much more if the lining is very thick, like fur !
Well, I hope that these explanations will serve you. See you very soon !
