Dancing With the Stars reveals this season's champion.
Learn how to dance like Michael Jackson.
And viral videos celebrate the Thanksgiving spirit.
This is Just Dance for Thanksgiving day,
November 25, 2010.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
This year, the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade is
pulling out all the stops--
and steps.
First up, the rapper turned filmmaker, Kanye West, is
singing a family-friendly version of his hit song,
"Runaway." Other artists billed to perform include
Jessica Simpson, India Arie, Gladys Knight, and iCarly's
Miranda Cosgrove.
The Broadway lineup includes musical numbers by the cast of
the 2010, Tony award winning Best Musical, Memphis, the
rock and roll legends of Million Dollar Quartet, the
disaffected youth of American Idiot, and the elves of Elf.
Tune in to NBC to see the live telecast hosted by Today
Show's Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, and Al Roker, starting
at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.
The finale of ABC's Dancing With the Stars this week was
packed with passion, Paso Doble, and pizazz.
The always energetic Massey started off with a foxtrot to
prove he was worthy.
But it was his freestyle hip hop routine to "Tootsie Roll"
that truly showed off Kyle's dancing
and performance skills.
He got love from the judges and 29 points, for a total of
56 for the night.
For the freestyle dance, Bristol locked herself in a
cage and got sultry to the tune of the "Cell Block
Tango." The Fosse-esque combo only got her 25 points,
equaling 52 in total.
Jennifer Grey continued to prove she's got what it takes
during her Paso Doble redemption dance that wowed
the judges.
But it was are ode to "Dirty Dancing" freestyle that
solidified Grey's talents and eye for the prize.
She twisted and turned to "Do You Love Me" and ended the
night with a perfect 60 points.
After a high-stakes results show, the judge's comments,
and America's votes, Jennifer Grey was crowned the champ of
Dancing With the Stars and went home with the coveted
mirror ball trophy.
[MUSIC - MICHAEL JACKSON, "BILLIE JEAN"]
He is the King of Pop, and his choreography is legendary.
This Tuesday, Ubisoft released Michael Jackson, the
Experience for the Wii, PSP, and Nintendo DS.
The video game allows users to jam to "Billie Jean," "Beat
It," and dozens of other MJ songs, all while doing his
iconic choreography.
Perfect moves in the virtual Michael Jackson dance school
or just hit the floor for single or multiplayer use.
No matter what dance level the Michael Jackson experience is
sure to be the ultimate pop star experience.
The four time Tony nominated revival of Promises, Promises
is currently playing the Broadway Theater in New York
City through January 2.
The musical is directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford,
the man behind the moves of Thoroughly Modern Millie,
Curtains, The Wedding Singer, and next spring's revival of
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying starring
Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe.
Promises is filled with the classic Broadway dance breaks
that will have shaking in your seat and stars Tony winner
Kristin Chenoweth, Emmy winner Sean Hayes, and Saturday Night
Live's Molly Shannon.
To get you in the Thanksgiving spirit, here's a little taste
of Promises signature dance number, "Turkey Lurkey Time."
-Tom Turkey ran away, but he just came home.
It's Turkey Lurkey time.
He's really home to stay, nevermore to roam.
Let's make a wish, and may all our wishes come true.
A snowy-blowy Christmas--
FEMALE SPEAKER: Since today is Turkey Day, we thought it only
made sense to share some hidden YouTube gems that
combine dancing and turkeys.
The first follows a woman quietly picnicking alone when
suddenly she's attacked by a new species, dancing turkeys.
Next up is the turkey dance.
This incredible stop motion short film follows a mother
turkey and her eight children.
Maybe we should mention that the turkeys
are actually chocolate.
But regardless, this video got us in the mood to eat.
And finally, a viral vid that captures the meeting of a boy
and girl turkey as they court one another.
Though some may be turned off by these dancing, uncooked
turkeys, you have to be a little impressed by the
puppeteer work.
It can't be that easy to maneuver 15 pounds of meat so
gracefully using only fishing line.
Newcomer singer-songwriter Christina Perri's single "Jar
of Hearts" shot to instant fame this past summer when So
You Think You Can Dance choreographer, Stacey Tookey,
used the unknown song for a dance between contestant Billy
Bell and all-star Kathryn McCormick.
Now, only five months later, the track is an international
hit with the music video currently holding the top spot
on VH1's Top 20 Countdown.
Perri used Tookey to choreograph the emotionally
charged video, which is a contemporary masterpiece.
The quarreling couples at the end are a shining example of
storytelling through dance.
With the beautifully crafted video debut, we hope that this
is the first of many for Stacey Tookey.
-We have a show to do.
Let's go, let's go, let's go let's go.
Just Dance gave you a sneak peak at this year's highly
anticipated musical film, Burlesque, which hits theaters
nationwide today.
The Screen Gems picture is packed with steps and stars
like Christina Aguilera, Cher, Stanley Tucci, The OC's Peter
Gallagher, X Men's Alan ***, and Forgetting Sarah
Marshall's Kristen Bell.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA: It was a really amazing experience, to
be taken to a whole new level of dance.
And really, at the end of the day, be able to truly believe
myself when I'm like, yeah, I'm a dancer.
FEMALE SPEAKER: In case you missed it, Christina Aguilera
tore up the stages of the American Music Awards and
Dancing With the Stars this week, performing the title
track from the film live.
Check back with us next week for a review of Denise Faye
and Joey Pizzi's choreography on our dance-o-meter.
This week, you saw a dancing star crowned, a dancing legend
turned virtual, and a lot of dancing turkeys.
Stay tuned next week for another episode of Just Dance
on DanceOn.
