(Joe Seabrooks) Welcome to the Malcolm T. Wilson Enrollment Center.
[clapping]
Anyone who knew Malcolm Wilson knew that he was all about students
and he was all about access and he was all about equity.
And when you think about your college experiences, uh,
when you think about how you accessed, uh, your institution,
uh, think about how difficult it was,
think about how you had to go one place, uh, to get registered,
you had to go another place to get financial aid, uh,
if you didn't have a shor- a form filled you had to go another place
until at the end of the day some folks would get frustrated and just honestly leave.
This facility that you're sittin' in
represents the best that America has to offer when it comes to, uh, serving students.
This is a, uh, a cutting edge approach to truly putting students first.
[audience clapping]
--Throughout Malcolm's career he continually demonstrated a sincere attitude
to helping students achieve their educational dreams.
He knew the importance of investing in others,
that further education was an attainable goal for everyone who sincerely desired it.
Our family is very happy to know that this wonderful facility,
the Penn Valley Malcolm T. Wilson Enrollment Center,
will continue the legacy of investing in others.
--Although my father is not here physically he is here spiritually
shining down with a big, bright smile and he would be so happy.

(Peter Yelor) And we are honored to present a scholarship in Malcolm's name,
uh, to be given to a worthy student as decided on by the faculty.
And our hope is that each year we will be able to, uh, present a scholarship, uh,
in Malcolm's name to the-to a worthy student.
--Our scholarship fund, we feel, is something that Malcolm talked to us about before he left us
and so it's an opportunity for us to help fulfill a dream that he has.
