A lot of times if you are in a bridal party and your, the bride is having her dresses
made, sometimes there are a lot of bridesmaids who may be out of State. Or maybe you're having,
you're just, you're just having your dress made out of town. The seamstress will need
to have your measurements in order to have the dress made. So, what we're going to go
over now is how to take some of the basic measurements that the seamstress usually asks
for. First off we are going to start with the bust measurement. The bust measurement
is usually taken over the widest part of the bust line. You want to go, you want to have
somebody else take the measurements. You don't want to try to get these measurements yourself.
What you want to do is go around the widest part of your bust line. Go all the way around.
And do not pull the measuring tape. You want to make sure you use a soft measuring tape.
You don't want to pull the measuring tape too tight. You want to make sure it just stays,
it stays right where it needs to be. And just take the end of the measuring tape and line
it up with the back of the front of the measuring tape. This way you're going to get a more
accurate measurements. If you want to get really, really accurate, you can take this
in the bathroom without any clothes on. That's always really good, because obviously you're
not going to be wearing your dress over clothes. So, but you want to make sure that everything
is not too snug. That it's over the widest part of the bust. And you'll get the right
measurement.
