Place the fiber holder in position to slide into the assembly tool.
Very slowly slide the fiber holder towards the connector.
A small bow in the fiber will start once the white line on the fiber holder is even with
the white line/bow start mark on the assembly base. When the fiber holder is pushed toward
the connector and stops, a fiber bow should be seen.
The funnel cover will open and the middle cover on the fiber holder should lift for
rigid fibers and remain closed for 250 micron and flexible 900 micron fibers.
There should be no gap between the fiber holder and base when the fiber is fully inserted.
The funnel will stop on the fiber holder when the ears contact the release lever.
Close the actuator button on the assembly tool base and firmly press to actuate the
splice.
An audible click may be heard when properly actuated.
Squeeze the release lever on the side of the tool base and push the ears of the fiber holder
forward to actuate the buffer clamp.
Open the fiber covers and clamp on the fiber holder to release the fiber.
Slide the fiber holder from the assembly tool base and remove the connector from the receptacle
to complete the termination.
If a bow is not seen or starts prior to the “bow start” mark, slide the fiber holder
back and re-strip, clean and cleave and begin termination process again.
It is an optional to remove the LC connector and test it before you actuate the buffer
clamp.
Fiber removed and the fiber re-strip, clean and cleave again for another try.
Use the cap popper feature on the assembly tool, by pressing the connector down fully
to push up on the cap, this will open the splice element and the fiber can be removed.
If the dust cap was removed for the termination, clean the connector ferrule with a lint free
wipe and isopropyl alcohol and install.
Store the connector with the protective dust cap in place if the connector is not going
to be immediately put into service.
Now open the right clamp marked number 2 on the cleaver and with the tweezers provided
for you in the No Polish Connector kit 2565, remove the fiber chard from under the clamp
and dispose per your company practice.
