Hi, I'm Bruce Marshall; fashion designer and Emmy award nominated costume designer here
to demonstrate for you how you might want to dress for a first date. Now, example, you
want to be a little bit conservative, but with a little bit of an edge because you don't
want to give away too much information about you just based upon dress. You want to play
it safe. So, basically, you're a gentlemen at top. You keep it that way, but you add
a little splash of color because you want to let them know that you do have a bit of
personality because somethings you want to leave to the imagination that they might find
out about you maybe on that second date if you're lucky enough to get it, but you definitely
don't want to give away too much in the beginning. So, always keep it kind of simple, casual,
but nice. So, a nice jacket, a nice colorful shirt to say a little bit about your personality
and just a safe pair of jeans, you know, not too tight, not too loose, just middle of the
road that might impress their parents if you meet them or some of her friends if you run
into them. You don't want to give away too much about your personality, but you want
to let them know that you're fit, and you're ready to go. Now, remember, it's the first
date. So, yo don't want to blow her away with too much of an impression. You want to just
basically make sure that your clothing sets a really nice palette for you to shine. So,
yo don't want like really big bold print or anything of that nature that are just too
fancy that will actually reflect and detract from you and your personality. You want the
focus to remain on you, and at a later date, you may be able to show her somethings that
are, how we say, a bit more comfortable, if you know what I mean.
