Let's talk about SnapChat. If you're real grown-up, chances are that you are a little mystified by snapchat. I want to talk you through why it's really cool, why should try it out, and how it works. Snapchat is a social app that a lot of people know as the way that teenagers send explicit photos to one another, but it's really so much more than that. I'm pretty sure that teenagers are hardly using it for that at all. Video has come to really dominate social media content, especially in the past few months, and snapshot is a fantastic way to start to integrate more video into your everyday social media routine they're basically three different ways to use snapchat 1 is that you can send a video message or a chat message to a friend or to a couple of different friends. Just like a standard messenger app. Another way is My Stories. And this is what I think is the most interesting for sharing content with your audience and really sharing what you're working on as a creative person these are little snippets video or just still photos from throughout your day so it's a running feed of everything you've been up to in the past 24 hours i think is also takes some of the pressure off. I have a lot of clients who are concerned with the quality of their content. They really want it to be the most polished and the most professional because you don't want stuff hanging around the internet forever that you're not really proud of. And Snapchat takes some of that pressure off, because it's only going to be around for 24 hours. The expectation of the quality is a bit lower because it is more about sharing your personality on the go and no one's really going to see it after tomorrow. Download the app if you don't have it already open it up and the first screen that you see is the camera. And this is the main way that you capture things with snapchat. There's the front facing camera but then you can also on the top right hit the button and then you see the back facing camera there. That flips back and forth. if you hit the little ghost at the top, this little ghost functions as a way to easily add friends if you're in the same room with someone and you want to add them to your Snapchat. Pull this up, and they take a snap of it, and and you are automatically added to your friends. It's a very cool use of QR codes. Probably the only cool use of QR codes in all of history. So if you want to snap, let's take our very first one You are in your main camera screen, and that bottom circle you can either tap, and makes a terrible photo. If you wanted to make a video, you just hold down that little circle and it makes a video. Once you have your video you can add text. Hit the little T and add some text. And this will even accomodate emoji, You can see which emoji I use the most, I like the horse and the pizza. And you can either leave it like, drag that up and down somewhere, or you can change the way the text looks by hitting the T and you can make that big and small and drag it around. You could also draw, you choose a different color And you can draw. These are different than Instagram filters because they have a little more intelligence.
