Hello everyone. Here we are with Amazing Alex. Rovio's latest creation.
The idea, it's another physics based game
as you might imagine.
Starts off quite simple.
The idea is you press play
and then physics kicks in
This is level one
Hooray! I'm a genius
So now,
You have objects.
You place the object
Then let physics run
and try to collect all the stars
The first ten levels or so are really easy
It's more just a case of getting the placement right
Different balls have a different weight and travel further
or rather faster, should I say.
You've got to be quite careful though, because if you
get them in the wrong place sometimes the ball will actually get stuck.
As I say, it starts off very easy and then starts to get quite a bit harder.
On this one we've got to close a book as well.
Create a domino effect.
The music's a bit kitsch like but
I know what you're all thinking
Is it as good as Angry Birds?
It's different.
It's a very similar principle
but obviously,
a slower paced game, I would say really because it's more about
kind of deciding where you're going to place your objects. After a while these guidelines go away, so you'll have
to figure it out for yourself basically, trial and error.
It's definitely different
I'll give it that.
So now we need to rotate this, I want to get the angle right.
In just the right position, otherwise the ball will kind of
skips off at the wrong angle.
Hooray! Success.
You'll see what I mean
In a second.
The ball's got to come down here, hit that and hit that, and then go into there.
Later on, if you pop that in the wrong place it will fly off.
over the side or bounce up.
Rotate that one
Hooray! There you are you see.
I can see that I'm probably going to become quite
taken with it as a game
It gets quite difficult later on
Let's try that, see how we do.
You can see, it could have gone wrong in a few different ways there.
There was a little too much bounce but just
pulled it off
If you don't place an object perfectly in the space
It will actually fall
as here
Ooh! Ooh! Nearly!
It's a really, really clever game. Definitely.
And graphically it's quite useful as well.
This is where things start to get a bit more tricky.
This is where I think you get an idea of how this game functions.
You see....fail
Ding!...Not quite...
There you go. So that's Amazing Alex.
Like I say, a really, really good game.
It's a couple of quid on the playstore now, or there is a free version
Well worth grabbing.
You could have worse things to do with your time, put it that way.
