I am finally finishing this room. Which was the original Lanai to this house
So this texture was all plaster white.
What the heck am I going to do. So we have this bar and hightop table
well let me try faux painting, I have never did it before. But guess what. I love color. Color can be changed.
Don't worry about it. You can see all the different colors I used.
We started with the ceiling. That is troweled over paint. I painted the ceiling first
than I troweled over the wall in 4 different colors. If you get a shot of the floor Mike it actually looks like that matches to the wood in the living room if you could see that.
This is tile, ceramic tile which is out on the market. An absolutely fabulous product.
Ceramic tile. It looks like wood. It does. It looks like hand hewn wood. Which that is in there is also.
This was all ceramic tile before. And the person who put this in didn't do the right job. It was all uneven.
and therefore my mother fell on it and cracked her head open about four years ago.
We actually had to pour, it took 2 days to make this level. It still is not level because when they put the original tile on it, it was not cured.
So when we took all the tile up you can still see wet spots. So we have now repaired this to the way it should be.
Over here you can see what I am doing. I have all my paint supplies here. I just painted the inside of this wall.
I have it. It was a cranberry red color. I decided I didn't like and i put it back to olive green.
Greens, cranberries, teals, browns, creams in here as you can see. This is a room we get happy in. This is actually man made like a fallen board to make it look like a border.
Glen painted it rust terra cotta for me. And I am glazing over
and I am going to be faux painting it. What I do is put it on and take it off with a wet rag. I am in the process of doing it right now.
Well this is one of my paintings which I reproduced from a postcard. It is a rode in Germany. I did this in the 1980's. I painted this with watercolor.
I always think my watercolors look like oils. Kind of. Sort of.
And of course what italian family would not have a map of Italy in it with a bar. Cheers.
Okay Michelle, what are you working on now.
