Hi guys and welcome to this new tuto where i'm going to show you how to make a homemade NVG
to make it we will not use any forbidden gear on the market
there is nothing about military gear
it's just the same thechnology we find inside our camcorder with a night vision system but amplified
this is enough to use it in airsoft
In game,with a laser sight i'm able to hit a body from 30 to 35 meters,not more
With an Infra red torch and IR cam(IR filter removed from the lens),we're going to be able to build the NVG
To begin,i'm going to show you how does it work
So,we're going to use a mobius sport camcorder to realise it
as the killcam,we're going to use it to reach the lens
after removing the 2 little screws
open the cam
With allen key/BTR key we're going to remove the screw holding th lens
just here
then,remove the original battery
it's just sticked by double face tap,we're going to remove it to get the wire with the plus to re-use it on a bigger battery,to plug it to the mobius cam
To use our NVG for 3 to 4 hours, easy
this is the IR filter that we must to remove from the lens with a tool
to convert the mobius cam into IR cam
if you wish to replace an IR filter, you can buy some in spare parts to re find the original lens, and stick it with a little point of glue
Two cams
the cam above has IR filter, the cam below has IR filter removed
With the light from a flashlight, each cam capture it
With IR torch, the cam above captures very very few beam, the cam below captures the IR light, but it's invisible for human eyes
Now in the dark
standard flashlight
each cam capture it
Now IR torch
we can see into the dark with the cam below
still invisible for our eyes and very very few beam capture by the cam above
if you use a 850 nm torch you will see a red dot looking in your direction,
if you use a 940 nm you won't see any red dot from the torch but your vision field is very reduced
that's the difference
This is the LCD screen we're going to use to watch the pictures from mobius cam,4.3" screen from banggood(link into the description)
it's coming with TV out wires
you must cut some plactic with dremel tool to place tour screen inside the VR google (depending from you VR google and link into the description too)
and you must cut the suport behind too
and cut a little part on the side of you VR google to allow to the wire out
button seting on the back are useless,do not worry
with mobius suport sold with it,we re going to put it on the top of the VR google
this is where the mobius cam is going to be
You have choice for VR google,a lot of cheap VR google are available
all these plastic/caoutchou bands you see around the VR google, its bicycle inner tube,to protect the VR Google from bb and battery, witheut this,bb's will drill and brea your googles
caoutchou band's extension on each side are here to make like a rubber/seal to do not see any light reflecting on your face from the LCD to stay invisible into the dark
There is no band under my VR google because this part is never exposed, and there s no light cast from this side
The suport is built with cam suport sold in the original pack of your cam,you can buy some in spare parts, there is just the extension arm that i have bought separatly
The two elasrics from my FAST helmet, allow 2 positions on my NVG
When i don't use it,it's very bulky above my face, not heavy,no problem to see,it's just big
when i usually wear this helmet,it's in NVG position on
This is how i stare it on my helmet, still with go pro support
in the extension arm,i have drilled 2 holes to put elastic's hook, and another one by the side to pass the mobius TV out wire
This wire who's going to transfer the pictures from mobius to LCD screen
I have added some tape to hold the mobius in its position, and to protect the wire extension from the bigger battery
Solder the wires with plug from original battery to the new one,to connect it to the mobius
you need to make a little hole on the side at this place to pass the wires of the new battery
This wire is TV out wire for mobius, very important
Inside the tap,two wires,white and yellow audio/video
i make it pass into my helmet, with tape and velcro i stick it on the side, like that,no embarrassement
and it continues
on the other side
i put all my wires inside this utility pouch i have sticked with glue and velcro
using it as counter weight, with inside my cable extension Tv out about 2 meters (female/female)
we don't use red wire in this connection
the red/black wire on the side is come with LCD screen, this is the power source,i have added plug type mini as our battery conector for our AEGs
and it continues
there,we find our white/yellow and we have red too,it's the wire from LCD screen power source, the one you will connect to your battery
velcro, glue one more time and tape
and it continues
here's the LCD wire
this is how we transfer picturesfrom mobius to a screen
this is the wire mess...just arrange it with battery, everything fit inside this utility pouch witheout problem
Of course, plug mobius cam to the new battery, close it and put it into its place
beware to not dammage the wire of the new battery
with the mobius, you can choose to switch on/off your cam and recod when you want
with computer programm seting
very easy
under the helmet, let's see what i see with the NVG
we can adjust the lens to get a clear picture, because here it's fuzzy
We can see card full on the screen, because my card micro SD is full, but no matter it's just to show you how it works
but it's very cool to get this information
just turning my lens clockwise you can see the picture becoming clearer
when it's done, you can rescrew the little lens we have removed at the beginning of the tutorial, holding the mobius's lens in position
an other way to make a NVG this time monocular
This is TTJ mod "TonTon Jim",it's his method, you can find it on his youtube channel
In my mind it's not very usefull, because i met many problems in game with his model
No possibility to shoot over 10M,pictures too small despite the zoom lens, too much fog on the glass
But to explain quickly, use a SJ cam M10,remove the lens to break/remove IR filter,of course
assemble the system with PVC tube of 40 mm,M10 cam support, and zoom lens for camera found on ebay
and i have put the rubber/seal with bycicle's inner tube to have no light escaping from the system when using it
it's very good idea,a good conception
but i had many troubles due to fog and no possibility to aim over 10M
very beefy system
Up to you to choose your system
I prefer my system ;)
easier to aim and to moove
with long rifle i 'm able to use my system
shooting to 30-35 meters into the dark and 10 meters with TTJ system
Maybe TTJ use more his system because is playing more CQB in building and it's not the same range to shoot, who knows, but it's a good idea and a good conception
this the only kill i have succeed, viewed in an elder video, using TTJ system, very very hard for me to make it
So this is 2 ways to build an airsoft NVG
now i'm going to show you my garden by night
using only my system of course with 850 nm torch light
i'm using 2 850 nm torch lights
it means that the opponents will see a little red dot in front of them
But it stays stealth
In 940 nm less bright, you see less far,but there is no red dot that opponent can see from from your IR torch
hard to progress with
boosting it by 850 nm torch light in my hand
i allow myself to shoot a target in my garden 15 meters into the tree,A4 paper page
i hit
witheout laser sight,i need a little time to aim my target
shooting a post away
i can see how many bb's left
shooting from my house to the same target,30 meters with TM Scar-H,usin red dot and magnifierX4
hit it
just one fail
witheout magnifier
hit
fail
hit
That's all guys!
Tuto is now over
i leave you with my garden dwarves
so the bright dot you can over there
this not an UFO
This is moon
Thanks for watching
